Is Harry Alford A Racist?

Updated on May 2, 2011

Play The Race Card On This Guy

The man to the right is Harry Alford who just happens to be the President of the Black Chamber of Commerce. As I was doing my sorting of the news this morning I ran across this video of Laura Ingram interviewing Harry about his coming war on Obama and his administration. i'm not reporting on this because I'm a racist because I'm not a racist. But I always admire any man or woman who has the guts to calls it like they see it. He's pretty straight up about Obama and what he is witnessing. What is also very revealing here is the fact that he voted for Obama and "why" he voted for Obama. So take a listen to the interview for yourself. I played it in the background as I did other tasks but I listened to it in its entirety and I have to applaud this black man for his forthrightness.

He made a heap of sense to me. He sees the same things that many of us see on a daily basis with the Obama administration. So is Harry a racist? No, I think he sees that this nation is in big trouble because of people "hoping" too much about someone with the no experience or qualifications, just a very likable guy, being capable of steering the ship of state.

Recently, like just the other day, I have had people come on my Hubs and play the race card. That's nonsense. Because someone isn't biting Obama's socialistic policies like a dog bites a bone doesn't make them a racist. What it makes us are concerned Americans who know a wolf in sheep's clothing when we see one. Obama thinks the federal government is the answer to our prayers. That's the way a liberal, progressive socialist thinks. That last statement is a statement of fact if you know anything about socialism even one iota. Europe went that way for decades, learned their lesson and seems to be swinging back the other way. So you want us to sit still for a failed history lesson as it unfolds before our very eyes? I don't think so!

The large, tax dollar eating bloated federal government is not the answer to our prayers. You can't be everything to everybody. If you haven't learned that about life yet, I suggest you get a clue soon. As the federal government over time morphed itself into Big Brother creating entitlement after entitlement to appease the masses, it was a recipe for disaster. We are now facing that economic disaster and it is making the same people who over decades helped to foster that mentality squirm like a worm on a hot rock.

I found it refreshing that there is a black business leader who sees what many of us see. The answer isn't found in government regulation, government policies or mandates. It sure isn't to be found in Obama. What has made this nation strong is the free enterprise system, not some stupid, knuckle headed group of professional pick pockets. That's a synonym for being a career politician.

Am I a racist? Not by the stretch of anyone's imagination. Is Harry Alford a racist because he disagrees with what he sees coming out of this anti-business administration? Not by any means. No matter what Obama says about his "pro-business" attitude, look very deeply, as Harry has, at the actions being conducted below the radar. Obama sees the business community as a threat - a serious threat.

Have a great Monday this May 2nd of 2011.

As Always,

The Frog Prince

White people fought a really hard war to free the blacks, they just don't care...we still owe them, so they think, I feel bad for the young people and women that fouught so hard to free the "slaves" So much for the race card, I never fell for that one anyway...They can use that card all they want, but more whites than blacks fought for them, so rude of them not to even care!

And don't let me count the generations of them here in the burg that are not to proud to stand in the welfare line, they don't want to really work anyway, now days, the ones in our gov. offices, social workers are all black and mean as hell...Try getting help here if you are white...And went school hear on the north side and had many black for friends. Some I even walked to school so they would not get picked on, made it thru the martin king riots and such, but now days things have changed. They are using the race card a bit much, good way out..but I think people are hip to it. They wore it out. No longer a race card, just I don't have a good answer or a reason card!

Now you know that if you don't like Obama, you are automatically a racist and you need to go back to your room with your head hung low to think about white guilt for a while. The problem is that staunch Obama supporters know that the criticism against Obama is legitimate, so they pull out the worn out race card - then shout and point really loud to drown out the groaning on the right.

I like that Alford admits the reason he voted for Obama and that it was a mistake. Whether he has left leaning views or not, I applaud him for his willingness to publicly change his mind.

Yes, that really fits with the large black turn out, doesn't it. So encouraging that he thinks he is just one among many of them who realize the progressive bummer they got in turn for their vote.

Dee - It's long but he hit the nail on the head. When Laura asked him why he voted for Obama and he answered "Because he was black" that was very telling as to why blacks went to the polls in the largest numbers ever.

Shortly after the election my wife and I went out to dinner. We were at the bar waiting for a table. There was a black couple next to us, and me being me I approached the man about the election results. I asked him if he knew who James Clyburn was (he's our rep) and he told me he didn't.

I then asked him if he voted. He said he had and all he knew was that he voted for Obama. I let the conversation die right there.

Refreshing, indeed, to hear Harry sees Obummer for the destruction he is doing to our country. I'd heard of him but was so glad you shared this interview to listen to.

      Fantastic read.

Harry Alford is the type of guy we need in DC, skin color

is not a problem to me, turning this country into a 3rd

      world country is.

How I wish JFK had not been assassinated seems we Have been

on a downhill slide to HELL since then.

      UP and buttons.

Looking good, Jim. First I knew about Harry Alford, but he sure 'nuff sounds right on target to me.

jim - You know they don't have a leg to stand on when the race card hits the table. The debate is over and done with at that point.

partison patriot - If Alford has the pull on black business owners, which I believe he does, then he'll influence it as he can. Business owners, the job creators in this nation and I am one of them, have been kept in absolute uncertainty by Obama's policies or lack of them.

RHW - Obama himself said this isn't about race, but we see what we see.

34thbombergroup - You're one of the few people I like to see rant. So rant away doll! That's why I love ya Baby!

Stu - It gets tiresome. The other day when the user came on and played the race card, then the Muslim card and on and on was incredible. I don't like his policies, plain ans simple. He is a pretender and that we didn't need. He creates a Boogie Man for everything that happens. I suggest he take a look in the mirror and wipe the smirk off his face while he is doing it.

Nailed it again. I have been called a racist more times than I can count, just because I buy into the TPM pronciples of constructionist legal interpretation, debt reduction, and free markets. What does any of this have to do with race?

And how come the liberals who play the race card never acknowledge the fact that some very prominent blacks are in sync with TPM ideology, such as Herman Cain, Colonel West, Thomas Sowell, and James Manning? Are they just "faking it?" Are they trolls? I say no, because they are too outspoken to be frauds.

And what about the Glenn Beck rally? There were three keynote speakers, in addition to Beck. One was Dr. King's niece. And Beck held the rally at the bottom of the Lincoln Memorial, because he didn't feel worthy to stand at the top where the plaque to Dr. King was laid. Is Beck a racist?

I'm really getting sick of these ad hominem attacks. I'd like to see some FACTS.

As I've said in the past, I will not use the term African-American. No one seemed offended by the term "Black" prior to Obama's "win." I'm sick to death of being treated like a RACIST when I am not one.

I was raised, in a conventional manner, by wonderful parents who grew up in the Depression, then fought and won the War. My mother did as much as my Dad. She and her twin sister worked at Curtiss-Wright 10-12 hours/day while she also went to College. Other relatives were also all employed at Curtiss as my Grandfather was the personnel director. Made things easier.

My father's parents worked as a Buffalo cop and, here we go again, Curtiss. Grandpa also worked in a sausage factory 8 hours per day. When did these people SLEEP???

Daddy was in the 8th Army Air Force and was lucky to survive-though he did have nightmares 'til the day he died. He did not share these with my mother - I seemed to be the one to handle that job as he knew that from the age of 8 I wanted to know what he did. I did the best I could, although this REALLY pissed off my Mother!

SO - I now DEMAND to be classified as a Scots Irish English German American. I am a DAUGHTER OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION AND A DAUGHTER OF THE GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC.

When THAT becomes a minority (probably already is!) I MIGHT consider changing my stance.

      Until then - forget it!

(I think I'm off topic... don't care, FP - this REALLY pisses me off-as you know! Thanks)

Up and awesome Frog. The election should not be about color. It shows ignorance and limited thinking. I don't think anything should be colorized - including the black college funds, etc., I was a poor white female - no one wanted to pay for my college - I worked 3 jobs for that, I kept thinking - if only I were black!

I found the video to be very encouraging; especially the part where Alford predicts Obama will n ot get 30% of the black vote this time around. As much as I want to believe that I find it hard to believe but either way you are dead on with your analogy; those that disagree with Obama whether they be black or white do not do so because they are racists, they do so because they are not Socialists!

Excellent. Voted up, useful, and awesome. The race card is the card that's played when they run out other cards. It's an act of desperation.

This one hit me like a ton of "RED BRICKS" and now why can we have black schools, black beauty pageants, black Chambers. Something is so so wrong with this picture. I am sick and tired of "Whites" being in the background and must tiptoe not to hurt ones feelings. I am not a racist either but now I do understand why we have racist in the world. Now I must ask "Who sees the color"

As I understand it whites are racist by definition.
