Sleeping on the job has been thought to be an unnecessary, unhealthy and should overall be avoided. People tend to say that if you take naps during the day, you will have trouble sleeping at night. However, research is showing that taking naps on the job could be a real changer. The antidote to daytime sleepiness and tardiness, concise powerful naps could increase your productivity with up to 30%. Why do the daily naps help us? What is the right way to take a nap? Taking naps is recommend for a lot of reasons. In our busy lives we often get frustrated very easily and most of the time it is connected with the lack of rest. Just like your computer needs a shut down every once in a while and your phone needs recharging, your body and mind need rest. Studies have shown that a nap can reduce the levels of your stress and increase your alertness and performance. According to a research made in 2007 a simple 20 minute nap can reduce the risk of heart disease. Simply taking a nap up to three times a week your chances of getting a heart attack decrease by a stunning 37 percent. For the working men this percent is even more unbelievable - 65%. A lot of people, who take regular naps, say that after they've slept for a while they feel more relaxed, more calm and full of energy.

Moreover a short 30 minute nap will heighten your sensitivity. You'll be able to restore your senses at their uppermost levels. Your taste, sight and hearing will improve. As aforementioned sleeping on the job will increase your productivity. Most of the businessmen say that they come up with new ideas just after they've taken a nap.
Famous people, such as J. D. Rockefeller are known for sleeping on the job. Other famous names are president Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan. Winston Churchill also took an afternoon nap, believing that if he takes a nap, he'll be able to do twice as more each day. If we get back in history Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Edison and even the French Emperor Napoleon were sleeping for about 30-40 minutes each day.

The right way to take a nap

If you want to achieve the best results from your nap, there are some general tips you must follow.

1) Plan your naps and be concise - If you want to be sleeping on the job you must do it regularly. Choose when exactly will your nap take place and take a nap every single day. That way your body and mind get used to the routine.

2) Drink Coffee just before your Nap - Caffeine is a very powerful addition to your nap. What most people don't realize is that drinking a cup of coffee will have its results after an hour. This is, because caffeine requires some time to kick in. This makes coffee the perfect drink right before a nap.

3) Be sure you don't sleep it off - Your nap should not be longer than 20-30 minutes. Make sure you awake at the right time, in order to be able to get the most of it. Naps longer than 30 minutes are not as beneficial as those that are between 20 and 30 minutes.

Tips reagarding sleeping on the job

Taking a nap while at work is a little bit harder. If your boss isn't that well aware of how good naps actually are for your productivity, you could get in trouble. Having this in mind you should plan your work nap extremely carefully. Some of the most general tips tell you sleep during the lunch break, take a nap in your car and not to let anyone notice you. As most work places have one hour lunch breaks, you could spend 30 minutes of it napping. Also make sure that the place where you nap is dark and no one will disturb you. That way you will get the most of your daily work time nap.

Everyday people race around and work a lot. It is just how life is. However, everyone needs a rest. This is why taking a short concise nap every day will reduce your stress and frustration, increase your sensitivity, creativity and productivity and overall make you feel at the top of your game.
