LOGO123 Review: Why It Stands Out And Helps You Stand Out

Updated on May 7, 2015

How Are You Going To Get People To Notice You?

The Importance Of Standing Out Online

If you have a website or a blog, then you are one in a million - or technically millions.

According to Internet Live Stats, there are over 939 million websites online right now! (At least there was when I checked!) And that number is increasing every second. In fact, they have a counter where you can watch the numbers go up or down. It is a little intense to watch the numbers change and picture your website as just 1 out of all of those.

In addition, according to WordPress stats, there are over 56.1 million new posts each month just on I can't even imagine how many there are in total, but I'm sure it is a lot.

In short, creating a website and writing great content is not enough. There is a lot you need to do in order to stand out in the crowd. For instance:

  • Engaging with other people to help build or share your content
  • Tackle your niche from a unique angle so you don't sound like everyone else
  • Creating products or services that are unique and separate you from your competitors
  • Branding yourself or your website to stand out to consumers

I Was In Need Of A Logo

One thing I know I lack is a good logo. I've gone to Fiverr and tried to get a cheap logo created, but the results I had were unappealing to me, and because I didn't really know what I wanted in a logo, I just gave up on it and focused on other aspects of getting my websites noticed.

For the past little while, however, I've been working with a network of other website owners, and I've been building my personal face and voice, as well as the names and presence of my websites, and the thought of having a logo came back into my mind as I thought about a 'face' for my sites.

Two days after the thought about a logo came into my head, I was contacted by Chris from and he offered me the chance to try out his service for an honest review.

I knew that was my sign to get on the logo train and find something that I resonated with more than just my site name.

My Experience With

The first thing I noticed was that Chris was extremely professional and pleasant. I know this has nothing to do with logos, but it has everything to do with how customer oriented a business is.

Just like my dad avoids restaurants with disgusting bathrooms (he figures it reflects the kitchen and staff), I avoid businesses with people who are unprofessional, short-tempered, rude, or slow to respond.

I have found that a person's initial behavior in business often reflects their business practices. I've learned that the hard way!

So, the whole thing with LOGO123 started off pretty good. Now, for the actual experience.

When you use Fiverr a lot, you see $5 and assume that is what the price is for the service. I failed to miss the fact that you pay $5 per logo concept and then $49 for the one you really like.

Don't get me wrong, LOGO123 offers an amazing price compared to some places where they charge you $200-$2000 (and more) for a logo (check out Stock Logos and you will see what I mean), but it is something you have to remember before you order to your logo concepts so that you can stick within your budget.

The thing I want to add here is that a good logo could help you stand out and bring in a lot of money. You can use it on your site, use it with your signature, and even throw it on caps or shirts.

So, if you are going to spend some money on your website, your logo should be one area that you do that. Don't try to get it done for too cheap or for free because it will look cheap and free, which can cause consumers to question you and your business.

The Ordering Process

To start, you choose how many logo concepts you want returned to you for review. You can choose up to 10.

Then you pick your industry to help the designers understand a little more about what you will be looking for. Picking the industry that most closely reflects you is important because you will get some really good design examples in your industry to choose from, and you may even get some inspiration towards what you are looking for.

Note: I had a heck of a time figuring out which industry I would be in. I finally picked miscellaneous, as seen in the pic below.

I can understand that a blog about happiness may not really fit into a niche. However, I have a blog about dating, and I was really hoping to see some examples of other dating/relationship logos - but I couldn't find any samples. For someone who lacks creativity like me in this area, it can be hard to picture a design without examples.

You can pick as many design examples as you like on LOGO123 to help the designers understand what you are looking for. But, I think the more you pick, the more room you will leave for creativity, which may not be what you want - so make sure you pick a few that really resonate with you.

Next you give your business name, what you want in the logo text, and let the designers get a feel for your business. Again, this is something you should think about before you do it because it will really help you make the most out of the concept designs you ordered.

Lastly, you get to explain your ideas and concepts in terms of font, colors, pictures, and any other ideas you have. You can even upload sample pictures that you would like.

I wish I had spent a little more time on this process, but the truth is that I had no idea what I wanted, so that's what I said. I gave the general colors of my website, but that's all I really had to go with.

As I was reviewing other logo designs on LOGO123 (after I had ordered my logo), I noticed that they had a lot more direction to help the designers create something favorable. In hindsight, I really think that you should have a direction in mind.

Make sure you get creative, go in with an idea, and really express what you want.

I found the following video that may help you see logos from a different viewpoint and help you get a little creative.

Next You Get Your Logo Results

After you submit your order, you wait for your logo results. From my experience, services like this takes days, so I went about my day and didn't check to see if there were any results. When I finally got around to checking my email, I noticed that the LOGO123 had emailed and the results had turned up within an hour of ordering! That's insane!

I failed to notice that they mention how fast they are on their homepage. They are not kidding.

The results were mixed. I admit, I didn't give much direction, so I didn't give the designers much to go on. Some of them didn't match my (lack of) vision at all, and some of them made me think about the message I was trying to send.

For instance if you look in the pictures to the right, I kind of liked the happy face on the paper being tacked into the bullseye, but I wasn't sure if the tack so close to the eyes would be a distraction for many people.

Also, I liked the 3rd concept in the picture above, but I struggled with some of the meanings that people might label that logo with.

I asked Chris what would happen if I wasn't interested in any of them, and he confirmed that I would have to order additional logo concepts and try again. That's another reason I want to stress that you come up with at least something in mind for your logo before you order.

But, for me, there were a few that I really liked. It took me a while to decide which one I liked the best. As you can see from the picture above (the check-mark in the top left corner), I chose the 7th concept.

What To Do To Make The Most Of Your Logo

Next time I'm going to be armed with more information. If you want to make the most of your money, I recommend you do the same. Besides having an overall concept, the things I've noticed that are important to consider are:

  • Font and overall logo size in terms of height and width
  • The colors should match the colors of your blog or match the message you are trying to send
  • If you are an information site, decide whether or not you want .com in the logo (after thinking about this, I like that .com is in there because my site is really about the blog, not a service or product)

More Tips: How To Pick A Logo

Get The Revisions If You Think You Will Need Them

Once you choose a concept that you like, you can pay an extra $20 to get unlimited revisions to the logo. This is a HUGE bonus, and I recommend taking advantage of it if there is something you want changed.

The revision results were delivered to me quickly - within an hour. I liked the subtle changes that the designer gave me. They were things I would not have even thought about.

If you browse through some of the designs on, you will see that the revisions often produce a really tight logo that looks amazing.

In short, if you get your concepts back, and suddenly know exactly what you want to tweak, these designers can make some killer improvements for you. They blow my mind at how professional they look.

Final Design Package Gets Delivered

The designer on LOGO123 who created my logo quickly got back to me once I picked my final logo concept. He let me know that he would deliver the whole package within 24 hours.

That was fine by me! I had only ordered my logo the night before, and the speed at which this was going was totally impressive to me.

But it turns out I actually got in 11 hours. Again, pretty impressed. And I got a file with everything I need to use my logo wherever.

Why Use LOGO123?

All in all I had a really good experience. There are many reasons I would recommend this service.

  • The cost is perfect for small businesses who want to create a professional looking logo without the hefty price-tag
  • As far as I've seen, the logos created on LOGO123 are just as good as those professional logos for $1000+ (and many even better)!
  • The service is very quick (their average turnaround time is 24 minutes in the beginning)
  • Every time I have gone to the site, I've seen designers online and ready to work
  • Choose as many concepts as you like
  • Get as specific as you like with pictures, colors, fonts, etc.
  • View other people's logos and experiences on the site to get more ideas

The bottom line is that LOGO123 delivers some quality logos quickly and for a great price. I'm so glad that Chris contacted me for a review because he helped me discover a place that I will be going to for all my future logos.

I realize that this is a positive review about the site with not much negative, but that's because I couldn't find many negative things to say! Believe me, if I don't like a service, I'm not afraid to tell it like it is. I highly recommend it as a place to get your logos.
