Make more money on Ebay part 1

Updated on September 26, 2012

Learn to earn

This is #1 in a 2 part series

I love using Ebay to make extra money and over the years I have learned how to be very effective at selling anything on Ebay.

Here are a few tips that will help you earn more money on Ebay.

# 1 - Before you sell anything, look up what it has been bringing on Ebay by searching completed auction listings for whatever Item you are selling. Lets say you are at a yard sale and you buy a XBOX 360 game - Call of Duty 2 Modern Warfare and it is in nice condition, go to Ebay and use Ebay's search and find the item then narrow the search by selecting the completed listings button on the left hand side, then it will show you ONLY completed listings and you can see for yourself how much that item has been bringing.

You have to be logged into Ebay to use the completed item search.

In other words you have to have a Ebay account and be logged into your account to use the completed Item search feature, it is Ebay's rules I'm just letting you know.

#2 Learn how to use Ebay's sitemap.

When you log into Ebay it is at the bottom of the main where it says sitemap & bookmark it into whatever browser you are using...example Internet Explorer or Firefox...if using IE add it to your favorites , you can also click my link above, anywhere on this page where it is in blue is a hyperlink, that means if you click it, it will navigate you away from this hub to for example Ebay's sitemap... then you can click the back button on your browser to come back to this hub, I did it this way so you can go to the places on Ebay and bookmark them..or add them to your favorites.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox as you browser it will be bookmark,

If you are using Internet Explorer it will be add to your favorites.

What is a sitemap? - A sitemap is a page designed for a website that has every page or the entire site listed on it. It makes it easier for people to navigate around Ebay and find anything you need help with, and to be more effective and make more cash on Ebay you need to become familiar with it.

#3 They tell you what is HOT, from the sitemap you can look for a link that says What is HOT..

When you click that it will take you to Ebay's Pulse Page

Click my link above to get to Ebay's pulse page & Bookmark it

Again you need to add this to your favorites or bookmark it and study it because this is literally, what is bringing the most money on Ebay and they have a whole section devoted to it because the more money you make the more money Ebay they will do everything they can to educate you on what items are bringing the most money and I assure you that they will be listed here on this page the Ebay Pulse Page..just click it.

#4 Be very descriptive with your item listing and have good pictures.

The saying a picture is worth a thousand words in very true, on Ebay I never buy an item if it does not have a picture, in fact there are lots of people like me. Ebay search can be narrowed to not include items that do not have a picture and that is what most people do so if you want to get the most money, have several pictures and be very accurate on the item description.

Go into great detail when describing an item, if it has a flaw tell what it is and if you know, how it got there, an example would be if you are selling a Fenton Art Glass vase but it has a crack because you dropped it, take a picture of the crack up close where people can see it and tell them, I dropped it one day while I was cleaning it and it got this crack in it, but that is all that is wrong with it then go on and measure how tall it is how wide it is and tell them when you bought it and how much you paid for it if you want, it will help make them trust you and they will pay more for something from someone they trust.

#5 Due to Ebays rising cost of their picture hosting, learn to build your item listing as a webpage, that way you can put all the pictures you want and not have to pay the extra fees for Ebays Photopack.

This will save you some serious money if you learn how to build a simple webpage, it is not that hard and I can help you in fact I plan on covering this in part 2

Anyway you will need some microsoft word for example I have found some free downloads, the 1st is similar to word it is called open office and is shareware meaning it is free and you do not have to pay to use it. The web address or URL is below,,simply click it

and you will also need some photo editing software - so you can crop pictures (cropping a picture is re-sizing it)

Below is a long link will take you to cnet....(I use cnet to find most any software I need for free or if I have to buy it I buy it there simply because they have so much freeware & it is all tested spyware/virus free) when you get there scroll down and look for Photo Pos Pro....and click the download now link on the right hand side.

Click Here to get Photo Pos Pro Free Software

Download these and I will cover more in the Part # 2

I need 20 people to help me reach my dream.
