The Secret to Making Money Online

Updated on June 24, 2010

The quest for the next online dollar begins here

The secret to making money online

Making Online Income will always be an easy feat if you know how.

So where does one start?

When I decided to write this article I simply could not break it down into defined steps to follow in order to make an online income. To make money online, there are literally thousands of potential means one could use to do so.

A few examples could be;

Sell items to third parties by being the middle man.

Buy and sell second hand items.

Create something new and provide it for sales representatives to sell or sell it yourself. This could be a tangible product or a digital product.

Offer a service to your immediate geographical area or an online service that is easy to provide and control logistically.

Become an expert in a specific field of commerce or a freelance writer.

These are the basic fundamentals that are addressed when deciding on the niche market you choose to enter.

How will you get paid?

Rule number one of any commerce is to get paid, get paid, get paid. Now I'm not saying that there are folk out there who don't just participate online as a hobby or to kill some time. What I will say however, is that even these hobbyists are prone to the needs and wants of their desires. What do they want. Well for example, a writer will be pleased to have tools of his trade updated in some format or even be able to copyright his writing or even need a platform for his writing to be communicated to the rest of the world. The point I'm making is that if you are providing some form of service, make sure there is a way to get paid. There are various pay format tools on the internet that can be used for free or a small fee to monitor your money making pursuits like Paypal.Simple and free to activate and easy to use. You may be asking by now, but what is the secret to making money online?Well please read on.

What is your niche?

Some affiliate marketers will decide to remain loyal to a specific marketplace that they have found best compliments a field in which they have an interest. An example is Clickbank. The Clickbank marketplace is monitored by a great system, but is saturated in my opinion by internet marketers and affiliates.

Try and think out of the box a little when it comes to your niche. Most people are making money online not because they are the first in line for new products, but because they have chosen to actively pursue a topic of discussion or interest that they are passionate about. Take a look at those individuals who you believe to be the foremost authorities in the areas where you carry out your research on products and topics and niche markets. It is primarily because they can write articles or review on topics that they are fond of and speak of in their own words of experience.

The point I make in this paragraph is that making money online is not about finding the newest product on the market at any given moment as I have recently come to realise. I find that my mailbox is now saturated by affiliate marketers with the latest top secret releases to the market place. The affiliate marketer is basically a used car salesman. No offence to affiliate marketers as I am definitely an affiliate marketer in some of my chosen niche markets.

The art to making money online is to be able to interact with any part of online traffic at any given moment that has managed to arrive at that instant where you want them to arrive. So now they are here.

The fact that they have arrived in your own little workspace is no miracle, it happens sooner or later. The difference is what you are able to share with that person that makes the difference in the amount of online income that you will receive. They may buy a product or by adsense etc.

So to answer that endless quest for the answer to making money online

The answer is simple my friends. Be true to your content and products. The ability to bring hordes of traffic to any pages that you have written or products that you are selling is not difficult as one can see after picking a few revealed hints and tips to generating traffic. The secret is in the satisfaction that your visitor receives when they arrive at the place you want them to arrive at. Think like the customer. Are you providing what you have said that you will provide.

I am sorry to disappoint some of you reading this as you may have expected to find the miracle answer to what internet marketers are selling that has made them wealthy. I hope that there is a small realisation in some folk though that the answer that everybody knows but fails to practice somewhat, is in the way you convey your knowledge to your reader. There is no miracle product. The top selling percentage of online money makers are finding their income in small numbers of satisfied traffic to their pages in large amounts of different niches that they are actively participating in.

So is the answer one niche or many niches?

Well I believe that the answer is quite evident. If you are an expert in a field, then write passionately in that field. If you believe that your knowledge spans a variety of interests, write passionately in multiple fields, but remember that if the traffic arrives at your page to satisfy that need.Thats all you need to remember and your online income will increase because you are no longer trying to get the numbers, but providing the answers that the smaller numbers are looking for.

I hope that this article points a few disconcerted online money making apprentices in the right direction in their quest to generate their next Dollar.

Great Hub. My partner and I actually have 3 niches that we are very passionate about and those are 3 we always maintain. Then we do several micro niches. Basically pick a niche, pick a product. drive traffic and then move on to the next one.

Lots of work but very well worth it.
