Managing Your Social Media - Review of Sendible
Google has put the world on notice that the search engine will become more responsive to not just social media but specifically current social media. What this means for website owners, bloggers and fellow Hubbers is we will become invisible if we are not participating in social media. Remember the communication course you took in college and a large portion of your grade was participating in class? Google is essentially following this same format. This change in website ranking essentially is no different than the teacher your participation in your score. Change is always good but the question today is are you ready to climb this steep road? To assist in this new social media world help is here. There is a new software now available, a fully integrated software service tool called Sendible. Let's review the benefits and see how this service might be cost effective for your website ranking needs. Since I am all about efficiency, along the way, I will add-in some helpful set-up tips and definition of terms to give you a leg-up on the start-up of your new social media dashboard.
Sendible is a social media management, monitoring & analytics platform that helps companies manage their social media presence more efficiently— Sendible.com
Full Disclosure: About the Author and Sendible
The author has no professional affiliation with Sendible other than a paying client.
Managing websites, managing your blogs takes allot of time and effort. If you are not promoting your work, you are doing yourself a disservice. Now more than ever, we must not just write and curate great content but we must promote out on social media. What is social media? It can mean a customized mix based upon your audience. For most companies and bloggers, it means their website, LinkedIn, and Facebook. For many, the social media footprint also extends to one more specific channels on Twitter, Pinterest and / or Instagram.
Sendible offers a social media dashboard that can help you schedule promotions and posts to a variety of channels or what Sendible calls "services." For instance, one Twitter account is a service, one Facebook Page is a service, etc..
Beyond the Dashboard of Social Media
While a dashboard for social media alone would be a time saver for many content producers, website managers, e-commerce specialists, even beyond the social media dashboard, Sendible offers a number of great features. Admittedly many of these features can be found elsewhere in piecemeal fashion, but the beauty of Sendible is the one-stop shop for your social media.
What is powerful about Sendible are the many added features of:
- Scheduling posts
- Optimizing the time of the posts
- Posting with supervisory review and
- Analyzing the results. Additionally, on top of the standard social media needs of promotion via your social media accounts, Sendible is also fully functional with both text messaging (SMS - standard messaging service) and email.
Like all great things with great value, there is a fee associated with it.
So the question is as a small business owner and/or blogger is threefold:
- What functions can Sendible automate for you today?
- What analysis can Sendible provide to you today?
- What functions can you grow into in the future?
So let's begin with you taking stock of what "services" you currently have that you could integrate with Sendible today. How many different social sites do you currently have? If you are small business owner (and if you are simply a blogger or Hubber - you fall under this umbrella of small business owner) , most of us already are posting promotions about our content on multiple sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Ingrastram. And for those whom I will call the sophisticated curator, you may also link over to a blogging program such as WordPress or Blogspot.
There are many great features of Sendible but as a content marketer, the ability to post directly to WordPress is a strength of Sendible because everything is in one dashboard. This feature allows one command center to see your activity and track and analyze your activity.

Puppy Dog Marketing Approach
A customer is in the pet store with a child who is begging for a puppy. Not at all sure this is such a great idea, or perhaps not sure if this particular puppy is the right fit, the customer will not commit to the purchase. The savvy salesperson offers to let them take the puppy home for a few days, assuring the parent that the puppy can be returned, no questions asked, and a refund cheerfully given if they decide they don't wish to keep it.
Video on Sendible
Sendible is a great app for social media. The 30 Day Free Trial is given because they know you will be hooked. In the marketing world, this free initial offering is often referred to as the the puppy dog trick because once you have started it is difficult to change your routine..
This author started out with Hootsuite and had some issues with graphics so she started with Sendible. She really likes the iPhone app because she can schedule posts right on her iPhone. She writes then and schedules her posts on her mobile phone.
East Twitter account and Twitter function is considered a separate "service" to Sendible. So a Twitter feed is one service, the ability to post to that Twitter account, I believe currently is considered another service. Of course, you can add as many services as you wish, all you need to do is change the type of monthly subscription you have with Sendible.
What is interesting, one of the most powerful tools for Sendible is the Twitter posting and yet in the video shown, the video author has not used this for the service of a Twitter account.
Let's digress for a moment and highlight the fact that Twitter has the ability to target specific groups. If you have a separate email, you could design a Twitter account specifically for fashion and then another Twitter account for technology. The advantage here is promoting content to elevate the user experience. Those who desire technology can follow your Twitter account for technology and visa versa for fashion. As writers, often we write on diverse subjects and yet the promotion is sometimes (not always) best suited as a niche.
.....Show conversation, post or reply. Monitoring Facebook is available as a service on Sendible. This is great because people will comment on your post and if you have it coming to your email, you will have difficulty sorting through the comments. It is important not to 1.) miss their comment and 2.) give them a timely reply.
The author in the video uses a template for posting her motivational challenges.

Pulse on Social Media Interactions
If you need to know in precise detail if your social media efforts are paying off, this is where Sendible really excels. The pulse of Sendible is across all platforms and will record all interactions. As the sample screenshots detail even the best time of day for your interactions.
Why is time of day important? For content writers, I don't see the time as day as critical (please correct me if I am wrong). For merchants and other e-commerce site, time is money and if you are posting new current images, promotions when your customers are most likely to see them, you may gain a larger audience.
Social Media Interactions
The social media interactions is most helpful if you manage multiple sites - multiple websites, multiple blogs, etc.. If you have one blog where you spend all your focus, Sendible may not be the best software choice for your needs.
I run several Twitter accounts for others and this is extremely helpful to me. Sendible will also allow extensive reporting. If you are a blogger and wish to add in services, you might consider Twitter and integrating your content with Tweets and tracking your impact on Sendible.

Social Media - Promoting Your Work & Sendible Ability to Help
Promoting Your Work
The part that is hard for me still as a writer is promoting my work. I feel as if I am the Avon lady at the front door of my friend's home when I post on Facebook. Yet, if I had a brick and mortar store I would have to hang a sign, advertise in local papers/radio so social media promotion is no different.
Imagine having a method to send out the promotional flyers to each site? This is what Sendible can do for you. It is the ultimate in the errand boy complete with an analytical dashboard.

Twitter Apps in Sendible - Each Counts as a Service
The Twitter apps as a service, I tried and ended up deleting. Perhaps it was simply that I don't care for the automation. Perhaps it is simply I am a control freak. Whatever the case, each app service counts as one of your services. If you need room, if you have a plethora of services you need, I would consider not including the Twitter apps in your Sendible account.

Social Media Strategy and One-Stop Needs
As the photo of the social media tree showcases the complexities of social media is ever growing and the branches are alway developing. New players are entering the market and these added venues add value to the marketplace but also add another layer of complexities. Keeping up with it all can be overwhelming for corporations and individual entrepreneurs alike.
There is no question, a one-stop social media service is needed. The only question for me was which choice was best for me. The functionality, ease of set-up and the dashboard combined with the email service all added up to a winning game plan for this on-line content author.

Summary of Sendible Pros and Cons
Sendible is a not a free service and nor should anything of this great value be offered for free. Dollar for dollar, Sendible has saved me countless hours. Sendible is very much like any service, if you use it to its full extent, the value is there. If you are a casual user, this service may be perhaps too robust for your current needs.
If you have chosen or are about to launch into delegating your social media chores, this service is a must to closely review.
