Maybe My boss does not like me

Updated on April 16, 2015

This is my answer to the question posed on hubpages."How do you think your boss would describe you.?"

So many times you hear individuals complain about their jobs. They say they cannot function on the job because the bosses are giving them a hard time. They say the boss sidestep them for a promotion that should rightly be theirs. The question one should ask one's self is.. What part am I playing or have played in all this, Does Your boss have a right to behave the way s/he does.? If your boss can say all or most of the things below about you but refuses to recommended you for the promotion ,should you conclude that your boss does not like you.?

I. You are an employee who is punctual and reliable ,who gets others to meet dead lines without them thinking they are pressured .You can be depended on to accurately research and collect information and data ,but you would rather have your secretary do the final editing before submitting.

2.You have good interpersonal skills and is respected and admired by others because of your ability to split the difference and to be be fair. You are an employee who listens to the challenges other colleagues have and try to provide solutions, if there is none ,you will always give a word of encouragement. The people you work with find you a great persons to talk to and will take you as a confidant. Can the people you supervised describe you as a judge who is fair and square.

You boss may not like you but respect your abilities

3.Are you one that is always striving for excellence and makes others know that they are to reach for the stars..Can you say you have a motivational team, song or verse that allows individuals to frequently challenge them self to be the best they can be.and would not be afraid to let individuals use as a mantra this little song "I am a promise,I am a possibility,I am a promise, with a capital P, I am a great big bundle of potentiality, and I am learning,to hear God's voice ,and I'm trying to make the right choice,i am a promise to be, anything God' wants me to be."

4.Can you be described as a no nonsense person,an individual that workers will come to for advice. Are you one who they respect enough to listen to because you allow each individual to be his or her self, never causing anyone to feel inadequate. .Do you allow each to have the feeling that s/he is important to the institution. Do you have the inner strength of being not afraid to in a diplomatic way reprimand individuals who seem to displaying the wrong work attitude or is carrying out a task using the wrong method. .

5.Are you seen as an unassuming person who is very smart but does not flaunt it. Could one come to the wrong conclusion by underestimating your capabilities ,strength and will power. Are you willing to take corrections and is not afraid to ask for help if you find you are weak in a particular area?.. Can you be depended on to make the best decisions in the absence of your boss to keep the institution you work for running efficiently.

.This is how I think my boss could describe me.What about you. If my boss see all these qualities and bypass me for a promotion can I safely say my boss does not like me?.

Your boss sounds like a very precise person. If anything, it's a compliment that they can put so much thought into your review.

Sounds to me like your boss would think he has a very good employee.
