Motivation 101

Updated on July 4, 2012

What is motivation? – It is the reason for doing something or behaving in a particular way.

What is your motivation? What is the driving force for doing what you do? Jack Zufelt talks about a person’s “Core Beliefs.” When you pull all of the layers back, what is it that you are longing for more of in your life?

How Can You Keep Motivated? –There are many different resources and tactics that can be used. These include a vision board (a precise picture of your want or desire), If you are working towards a new home, take a picture of what it will look like. Is it two stories or a ranch style house? Do you have a two car garage? Hang your picture up where you can look at it everyday. Look at it when your dream is fading.

Listen to motivational audio recordings and reading motivational books. I listened to Zig Ziglar’s How to Stay Motivated (18 tape) series while attending graduate school. Whenever I felt like I was feeling beat down from a long semester's work, I would go through the entire series which would put things back into perspective. I now listen to motivational recordings daily.

Hang around people who are already where you want to be. Doing so will you envision how things will be when you reach your goal.

Go to a live event or seminar. Whether you are basketball coach, chef, or salesperson, these events are geared towards professional development and motivation. Have you noticed how people come back with an extra pep in their step after an event?

Why do we lose motivation? We do because we lose focus. Motivation is something that must be recharged frequently. It is like a car that refuels at the gas station. Without doing so, it will end up with an empty tank (and so goes our motivation).

We also loose motivation because we lose momentum. It is easy to stay in the game as long as things are going our way. Once a train stops, it takes a great deal of work to get it fired up and moving at the same capacity.

Stay around positive people. Don't hang around dream killers. They will give you 101 reasons on why you can't succeed.

Great Motivators. There are many great motivators. A small sampling of these are Zig Ziglar, Bob Proctor, Anthony Robbins, Vic Johnson, Jim Rohn, John Wooden, Vince Lombardi, and Delatorro McNeal. These results driven leaders have all been successful in motivating others to succeed in individual and team atmospheres.

What is your motivation today?

motivation is the blasting word of this universe and you can also see great results in history . Truth of this world is that every person want to know about the motivation . Why ?

Because without motivation you can run very fast . If you are not fast , You will be back .

Lady_E thank you for the read. You can some free introductory material on most of the motivators that I have mentioned (most by Google). John Wooden has an official site. He also did a 3 CD session (Powertalk) with Anthony Robbins. Delatorro McNeil has a great, free motivational MP3 on his website. Vic Johnson and his mentor Bob Proctor have a lot of great material. Please email me if you would like further information.

Great Motivating Hub - I'm glad I read it. If we don't keep motivated, our eyes might lose focus of our goals. I've made note of the people in the last paragraph. I only know Tony Robbins and have bought quite a few of his CDs.
