Amazon has a list of policies relating to having a seller account and it is a good idea to get familiar with these rules and standards before you go any further, in my opinion. Never list any items that are copyrighted and take only one, clear photo of each thing you are listing. Of course some things should be obvious when it comes to having a seller account. You should never use or sell anything vulgar, racist or an any way demeaning to shoppers. In most cases, Amazon will warn you if you have done something wrong and allow you to fix the issue. As far as store listings go, Amazon will deactivate any listings that break policy in any form. If you try your best and remember to check your seller account everyday, even when you do not have a sale, then your account will stay above standard.

You have to make a decision on what kind of store you would prefer, an individual account or a business account. If that does not work you can type in the item's information to get the item to pull up and then you can list it. If you drop, break or in any form damage a item listed in your store it is vital to delete the item off the shelf so a customer does not purchase something you do not have. If something sells pretty fast it is a good idea to try and get a large quantity and rack up some profit.

One thing I truly like about selling with a seller account is the fact that Amazon representatives are always ready to help you by phone of you simply call them and tell them the problem. Also, every now and then you need to go through your inventory on your own and drop prices on things that have been listed for a long time and still have not sold. Also, if merchandise is moving slow you can update it with abetter description, new photos and a new title if need be. Another idea is on items that are first class or media mail you can offer free shipping and really get the sales going. Low prices equal higher sales. In today's marketplace the competition is steep and keeping quality, quantity and low prices are top requirements.

Have you ever heard the term, "The customer is always Right"? Well, they are. Take care of them because they are your boss and they are how you get paid. If the customer wants a return, whether it is because of damage or they just changed their mind, refund them ASAP. Also, offer sincere apologies for mistakes on your part. If I make a mistake and the customer needs a refund I refund them, pay them a little extra cash and in some cases tel them to keep the product anyhow. Then I tell them how sorry I truly am. Make them happy at all cost and always price your items either cheaper or even with the lowest item listed matching yours.
