Those with less than 1040 hours of prior experience will still need to complete an examination and prove that 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures have been completed. Those aspiring phlebotomists that are seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I license with no prior experience will need to complete a 20 hour basic phlebotomy training course and a 20 hours advanced course. Those with no prior experience will need to complete their 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures in a clinical setting. An examination must also be completed.
