Poster Mailing Tubes – Sending your documents safely.

Updated on September 1, 2010

The Case for Poster Mailing Tubes

When I was in college, I had all the usually posters: Beluchi from animal house, the beeriodic table, all of them.  And every year I’d have to take them down and store them until next year.  The first year I didn’t know any better, and not wanting to spend a ton of money I just rolled them, rubber banded them and stuffed them in with the rest of my college stuff.  Needless to say, my sophomore year I was pretty pissed I didn’t spend the 10 or 15 dollars on some poster mailing tubes to save the 50 dollars in posters.  So, after reordering all the posters, I purchased a poster tube and was able to save all of my posters all the way through grad school.

Somewhere along the way it occurred to me how valuable poster tubes really are.  The last two years of school I had a roommate who was an architect.  He would bring his blueprints back and have them laying around, on his desk, the dining room table, the kitchen counter.  When I asked him to clean up his shit, I told him about the poster saving tubes and for a couple of bucks he get be better organized and save all the blueprints.  It helped out the roommate situation.

These are just two of the numerous situations that poster mailing tubes can come in handy.  I know of people who like to recycle mailing tubes by storing things in them, everything from old documents to using it as a coin bank.  It’s better than throwing it out.  Plus using poster tubes can make it easy to locate important documents.  So if you have a deed or a contract that you want to keep protected but don’t want to lose where it is, using something like a mailing tube can do both.  If you have many of these documents, it may be handy to color code it with colored mailing tubes.

Now when it comes to shipping posters and other documents, it’s an obvious choice.  Mailing tubes are specifically designed to send out posters, art prints and the like through the mail, keeping it protected and secure.  So if you’re running an eBay business and need to send out these things where do you get the best prices on poster mailing tubes?  By shopping around online you can find many distributers and wholesale mailing tubes.  In fact many of the wholesalers will be able to beat a lot of the big name guys.  It’s important to shop around and visit many vendors’ websites.  By doing a little bit of research you’ll be able to find the best prices on clear plastic mailing tubes.
