Re-Discovering Your Purpose

Updated on May 11, 2012

As a Child of God and A Christian Life Coach, one of my passions is to help people discover their purpose or should I I say re-discover their purpose. Now some people may ask why I said re-discover? I am sure many have heard the phrase "your pain is your purpose" which is true and that part of our purpose sometimes takes a while to understand. But lets think back to when we were little. When we are kids, we have so many passions for things, we love learning, and those are the times when we start randomly saying what we want to be when we grow up. Remember saying I want to be a doctor, lawyer, teacher, a singer, or probably some kind of athlete, well whatever it was, at that time, we where pretty passionate about it. Of course its not until we have lived live for a reason that we start to come to a idea of what would we like to do overall. But as a child there are some passions that we have that NEVER go away, meaning as we grow older, we still have those same passions.

Now sometimes these passions are considered "hobbies" for most adults, I know it was for me. I considered writing, singing, and dancing(some of my passions) as just hobbies. To me there was NO WAYY, I was actually going to do those for a living especially since I was shy. I think some of you may be able to relate to that. It was not until recently when I started to ask myself, why would I put my passions on the back burner in order to pursue something just because it would pay better. Maybe the "hobby" that you have doesn't page that much or you've heard it may take a couple years before you actually start to see the progress. Well I am here to tell you that If God have it to you, use it! Its time for us to re-discover our passions, our purpose. Don't let it slip away, don't go other day wondering what if or what it would be like if you do what you already LOVE to do as a career.

When you have a passion for something everything else will follow, Jesus tell us that our gifts will make room for us and usher us into the presence of great men. He gave you those for a reason. I challenge to go to God and ask him to reveal your purpose or better yet to reveal the things that are inside of you that can be used for his glory. Stay tuned for the next hubs regarding our purpose!

God Bless you all

Great hub - love the line: ".....our gifts will make room for us and usher us into the presence of great men." I can only hope so for all our sakes. Very uplifting and encouraging MsLofton. Thank you. Cheers, Maria.

I just asked God to show me my purpose. Even better I just asked God to open doors for me to walk through -- that will be a hallelulah moment. Great Article, voted up.
