Redners Online Job Application

Updated on June 26, 2010

Redners is a supermarket chain within the United States. There are currently Redners operations in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The company is employee-owned (the first supermarket in Pennsylvania to be employee-owned), and it was founded in 1970, by Mary and Early Redner. The company was founded with the opening of only two stores. The headquarters for the company is currently located in Reading, Pennsylvania. After much success, the company began to expand greatly.

The steady growth and continued growth of the company resulted in the company's first Warehouse Market in March of 1987. The ideology behind this function is as follows: get rid of gimmicks/games, use discipline in buying and controlling costs, put the savings into the lowest retail price possible while still offering the quality of service and variety Redners has always been known for.

This change in the company outlook proved to be a success. Soon after the Warehouse Market concept kicked-off, every Redners supermarket was converted into a Warehouse Market by November of 1987. With the success of this concept, the stores themselves needed to be expanded. By 1990, Redners had tripled their business, and every store needed to be enlarged to handle the huge increase in business volume.

The convenient store division of Redners is also flourishing. And, as the world market for supermarkets and convenient stores changes overtime, Redners will adjust its schematics accordingly to provide supreme quality customer service.
