Malpractices of Vendors and Manufacturers

1.             Mislabeling the product.

2.             False advertisement - exaggerating about the quality of the product while concealing the negative qualities of the product.

3.             Adulteration - making the product impure or inferior by mixing other or baser ingredients.

4.             Short changing - not giving the exact change.

5.             Tampering the weighing scale.

6.             Tampering food labels.

7.             Hoarding - storing away or hiding the goods resulting to food shortage and rise in prices.

Rights and Duties of a Consumer

1. Demand for consumer protection.

2. Be protected from malpractices of vendors and manufacturers.

3. Buy good quality products.

4. Be informed correctly about the value of the product.

5. Right to refuse products that are treated with harmful chemicals.

6. Right to sanitary handling of food.

7. Right to seek protection from agencies tasked to safeguard consumers.

8. Check the quality of food supply.

9. Buy products from vendors who offer goods honestly.

10. Report malpractices they encounter to the proper agencies.
