Search The Craigslist Job List

Updated on February 22, 2012

Craigslist is a great resource for locating job listings in your particular location. The craigslist job search can be browsed by location and job category. Craigslist also allows job seekers to post their resumes to the website.

Finding a job on Craigslist can be simplified by first browsing to the city and/or state site where you would like to work. The navigation menu on the right side of the screen allows users to select a location from a list of cities or a list of states. The city list primarily contains large metropolitan areas. If your desired city is not on the list then proceed to the list of states.

Once you have selected your desired location you will find a list of employment categories under the Job heading. Select a category to browse the list of jobs or perform a search by entering a keyword into the search box. Each individual job listing should contain instructions on how to apply to that particular job. The classifieds service also contains a gigs section which list additional types of job opportunities.

Job seekers can also upload their resumes to Craigslist. Users can begin by clicking on the “Post to Classifieds” link on the top left corner of the webpage. Then, select the resume/job wanted option under the type of posting list and you will be given the opportunity to upload your resume to the website.

As always, use caution when providing any personal information while responding to job postings. Craigslist has measures in place reduce the prevalence of scams but it is always important to remain alert. Never use a credit card when applying for jobs.

Reading about those people who were lured into a death trap through Craigslist makes me more scared of meeting people. But the same basic rules still apply, meeting in a public place, maybe bringing a friend along, letting people know where you'll be beforehand etc. Use common sense and your instincts and you'll be fine!

I agree with Dale. It sucks when people like that try to take advantage of us. However, it's also useful to use to try to sell some goods or look for a place to live. That is how I had found my current address, and I'm perfectly happy with where I'm living.

You really do need to be careful when using Craigslist. There are a lot of scam artists who take great pride in using Craigs list to scam others. Just be careful
