Updated on March 1, 2018

Do you like a great doughnut now and then?

I don't often indulge in sweet treats so on the occasions when I do I want a quality product. Why waste your sugar/carb allowance on substandard cookies, cupcakes, or store bought doughnuts when you can have affordable, yummy treats in a clean classy venue? Once I discovered Cops & Doughnuts I couldn't go anywhere else for my baked goods. Take a moment and peruse our pics and commentary for Mt. Pleasant Michigan's Cops & Doughnuts Bakery.

I'm glad we visited at night. The Marquee and logo show up so well against the evening sky.

Atmosphere

As you can see this venue is clean and classy. The restrooms sparkle. Free Wi-Fi is also a plus for smart phone/tablet/lap-top enthusiasts. The lighting is friendly to the ambience and easy on the eyes. The space is well maintained; no burned out light bulbs, cracks in the floor, or peeling paint. The whole presentation says "we care and we take pride in our space."

Great Coffee Too!

What's a great doughnut without a great cup of joe to go with? Not to worry, this shop has great coffee too! This might seem like too fine a point, but I think a lot of you will agree with me on this: I love that they have a creamer bar. I like vanilla creamer for my coffee and they have the little vanilla creamer cup containers! This might seem like lily gilding, but to the customer who wants what they want (and aren't we all THAT customer?) this attention to detail goes above and beyond!

Creamer and Tea Options

They taste as fantastic as they look. Check out those cookies! They are my faves!

They really nail it on the display. Good food should look as good as it tastes and these examples do NOT disappoint!

Menu

I am fond of the expression "a picture says a thousand words" and I think the pics above demonstrate just that. The presentation is excellent, the taste is superb and the shop also has the one thing that could make a great price even better. DISCOUNTS! Below are pics of discounted/ready for quick sale items that really sweeten an already sweet deal :)

Taste

Cops & Doughnuts features quick sale items in order for them to sell great tasting products without needless waste. I've had both under the glass baked goods and right out of the oven treats as well as quick sale items and they all maintain the highest quality of appearance, and more importantly, taste!

Fun Ambience, Clever Gifts,

I loved the "don't glaze me bro" T-shirt, a parody of the "don't taze me bro" comment from a combative young perpetrator featured on several television networks.

Service

Admittedly, we didn't get there until later in the evening on a Sunday night so it wasn't terribly challenging to find an efficient server. However, we've been to Cops & Doughnuts lots of times when it was crazy busy and we always get timely, courteous service. Tonight was no exception. Our server was helpful, courteous and efficient.

The pics below are particularly special to me because they pay tribute to our community protectors, our local police. In a climate of irrational hostility towards our men and women in uniform the displays in the Cops & Doughnuts shop help to restore the sense of respect that our media and more radical activist groups have chipped away at in recent years.

Hey Brad, thanks for viewing and commenting. got a laugh about diabetics only being allowed to be anti-donut :) I did get quite a few views. I just got the idea to start doing restaurant reviews about a month ago. This was the second one I did. I think my hubs are improving as I go, I'm learning from my mistakes and how to improve, also learning to keep what works. I'm happy to say that one of my restaurant reviews was featured on "delisihably" so that was an encouragement. Please don't hold back on any tips or ways for me to improve.

That was a clever idea for a doughnut shop, and you are right that today the concept is mixed with the Obama trend of people being anti Cop.

But, only diabetics should be anti Donut.

I thought it was a good concept, and I like the Parolee last chance.

What I didn't see was any of their unique specialty donut creations. Most independent donut shops seem to develop one.

I hope that you at least got a lot of views on this one.
