Should I Hire a Voice Actor for my Podcast Intro?

Updated on February 4, 2017

Podcast Intro Voice Over Narration

Something magical happens when you allow someone else to “toot your horn”. When someone with a trustworthy voice tells everyone to tune in and listen to you, the impact is far more powerful than you telling people to listen…to you.

Think about it. When anyone of importance walks out on stage, someone else introduces them. During that introduction, our interest begins to peak with anticipation and curiosity. “Wow, they sound amazing and important and…I can’t wait to meet this awesome person!” Then they saunter out and we are all applauding.

And they haven’t even uttered a word. It's like magic, we're all ears.

That’s what you want. And that’s what you’ll get when you hire a professional voice actor to do the honors of introducing you with a personalized podcast intro and wrapping up your message with a podcast outro voiceover.

You are important and so is your message, and your audience will be anticipating the arrival of your first word. All you need now is a cape.

Curious what it might sound like? For some examples, check out the YouTube video on this article.

Intros help make speakers and podcasters seem more like celebrities. Good examples, but would be great if you could add some tips for finding good and affordable voiceover talent for podcasts. Cheers!
