Southern Employment Trends

Employment trends in South Carolina showed some fluctuation in daily job listings throughout 2011 under the Obama Administration according to aggregated data presented by, and the U.S. Department of Labor. However, an overall daily average of 54,000 vacancies were advertised during Spring 2011.

In a significant increase, 65,700 positions were advertised on average in Summer 2012; and over 72,000 jobs were listed in a January 2014 advertising surge.

During Spring 2015, the state offered over 70,000 job openings as well.
