Varghese Moolan - The Noblest Soul Among Indian Industrialists

Updated on September 7, 2015

The life and career of Varghese Moolan the Chairman of Moolans Group stands out as a testimony to the signs of humanity spotted among modern industrialists. Having previously instituted programs to aid children belonging to underprivileged families undergo kidney transplantation, it was only natural that Varghese Moolan would later devote his attention to poor children suffering from heart ailment. Shedding some light on the situation confronted by Children afflicted with heart decease, Mr. Varghese Moolan lamented over the lack of treatment available to children from poor families.

While Kerala boast of numerous hospitals that specialize in many deceases, those who suffered from heart ailments were primarily forced to be dependent on Sree Chitra, a hospital located in Thiruvanathapuram. The touch the heart program launched by Mr. Varghese Moolan under the auspices of Apollo Group of Hospitals, started out with the intention of extending medical aid to over 100 children. Out of the 75 children who were selected for the treatment those afflicted with the most serious ailments were referred for treatment. The initiative which gave the masses an insight into the inextinguishable generosity of Mr. Varghese Moolan, has so far succeeded in rejuvenating the lives of 45 children. The Moolans group have completed 60 operations for pediatric heart patients with an astonishing 100% success rate.

Amidst the torrent of praises being hurled at him from all quarters of the society for his contribution to the cause of the poor, Mr. Varghese appears determined not to allow complements to go to his head. A steadfast believer in promoting equality, the deeds of Varghese Moolan exude humility and provide a much needed lift for the multitude across our country. This humility receives more visibility when Mr. Varghese urges all grateful recipients of his generosity to express their gratitude to the god almighty.

Mr. Varghese Moolan who shifted his thriving business group to Angamali after over three decades in Saudi Arabia, remains rather skeptical over Kerala’s attitude towards industrials. Mr. Varghese who has long been regarded by many as one of the most towering personalities in the entrepreneurial, opines that there is a wide disparity between the types of professionalism practiced in West Asia and State of Kerala. The leading entrepreneur states how Kerala has failed to provide an environment conducive for business. Praising the high standard of professional approach taken towards industrialists in west Asia, Mr. Varghese Moolan insists that if the business in Kerala were to thrive, it should follow in the footsteps of West Asia.

Mr. Varghese Moolan, regarded as the think-tank behind the organization of Global Malayalee Council played an instrumental role in facilitating the departure and rehabilitation of many illegal laborers who had been stranded in Saudi Arabia.
