Webs vs. Weebly

Have you heard of the free website hosts/makers Webs and Weebly? They are similar to each other, but there are a few things that make them very different. In this Hub, I will tell you what those differences are and help you pick the best one for your website.

Webs

Webs is one of the most popular free website creators. Some reasons for its popularity include:

  • 300+ pre-made templates
  • Easily integrate Facebook
  • Add videos, a blog, forum, and/or an online store
  • Free mobile version of your website

Webs is pretty cool for those things, but there are some things that aren't so great:

  • Limited bandwidth and storage
  • Limit of 5 items in your online store
  • Forced ads on your site (Webs wants to make money too)

These limits can obviously be changed via upgrading from a free account to a paid account. However, if you aren't willing to pay for more space, you might want to consider how much storage and bandwidth you need for the type of website you want.

Weebly

Weebly is another popular website creator. It claims to be the easiest website creator. I can say that it is pretty easy to use. Here are a few things about Weebly:

  • Drag and Drop editor
  • 100+ pre-made templates
  • Unlimited bandwidth and storage
  • If you have your own domain, you can use Weebly on that site
  • No forced ads from Weebly
  • Easily integrate Google Adsense to make money
  • Add photos, videos, blog, etc.
  • Get free month of Weebly Pro when you sign up via my referral link: http://www.weebly.com/link/5N5UOG

That's a lot of good stuff at Weebly. The only thing that you might not like is that they only have 100 templates to choose from. Other than that, that's about the only "bad" thing about Weebly.

Webs vs. Weebly

Final Comparison

For me, Weebly definitely wins. Weebly doesn't have a restriction on the amount of bandwidth or storage your website has. Also, it doesn't even put ads on your website like Webs! If you like having a VERY wide selection of templates, than Weebly wouldn't be your first choice. I think that 100 choices is more than enough though. Also, if you are planning to sell stuff on your website, Webs only lets you sell 5 things! Unless you upgrade to a paid account, of course. Weebly, on the other hand, lets you sell as many things as you want! Everything on Weebly seems smoother and easier to use. Although both websites do have a few glitches here and there, I think Webs has more glitches/problems than Weebly. With Weebly, you can even add video games to your website! Check out the games I put on my website: Logemon's Website.

Weebly Wins!
