What a waitress is thinking when she sees a customer

Mom to a 2 year old little girl and a full time waitress! I just recently started writing blogs hope u enjoy.

In a mind of a waitress

When going into a restaurant we all want to have a good experience and enjoy our time at the establishment. But what happens when things go sour? When no one wants to wait on your or doesn’t take care of the table? Well here is what is going on the other side of the table. When you seat yourself please be patient if when you enter and your server does not at least acknowledge you within a min or two. Please be patient he or she probably has 3-6 other tables. If your server has no said anything to you after five minutes then I would ask for management. Unless you don’t mind the wait but again if she doesn’t acknowledge you in the first five minutes then odds are she is begging someone else to take the table. As bad as that sounds we do it for various reasons we may need to sometimes eat we go 6-8 hours without eating. Other reasons may include bathroom break, smoke a cigarette, to get fresh air, check on children. We sometimes go without doing this for hours. If they do get to you in an appropriate time, and we greet you warmly and when we get to the table and you start being rude and asking us for free stuff things will be bad. Please treat us like any other human being you may encounter anywhere else. Please speak up when you have special needs like a certain syrup or extra of something. Please be mindful again we do have other tables but depending on what kind of waitress you have this shouldn’t be a problem Of course here is the end of the visit where you have to go food trays and to go drinks. You hand us a book with the bill and your form of payment. After running your debit card or using your cash after we smile and invite y’all to come back we go back to the table, and we see a dollar! We will beat ourselves over this the whole night. We get confused you smile and say how We are such good servers but you leave a dollar? Let me break this one down quite a bit we do get paid by the hour in my state it’s 2.13 an hour. So we mainly depend on your tips so that we can pay our bills. In the event you leave a dollar we will think about how we can give these 20 places each a piece of that. We understand those who are a fixed income. This is to those who have It to give but just won't. So please if your server seems a little upset, worried please remember to be kind it could be the only act of kindness we see all shift.
