Why Jobs stink

Updated on April 16, 2012

Losing Out On Fun

Anyone else think jobs stink? I know I do. If you refer to what you do as a job then it's not something that you love. You can lose so much of your life doing something that you hate. You can't do that to yourself. That's not the right way to go about living. Life is meant to be filled with joy and happiness and beauty. It's not meant to be filled with doubt and anger and resentment. What you do for a living really defines who you are and how you act. I have been so blessed in life that I don't really need to go out and find a job. I am supported by my family and that is something that not many people have.

I feel really bad for the people who get no breaks in life and have to work their butts off everyday to make ends meet. Imagine all of the vacations and experiences people miss out on because they have to work for a living. There are so many amazing things out there and it seems like only a few people get to do them. Imagine a life where you got to wake up anytime you wanted and could do anything you wanted. That would be pretty amazing right? But, the long hours of work keep you from experiencing that kind of life. Those nine to five jobs that you just can't stand need to be terminated.

Working For The Man

When you have a job that means that you have a boss. When you have a boss that means you must follow another persons orders all the time. It can get really stressful when you're working for someone. From my own experience, I couldn't stand the boss.

It was hard to be around her because it seemed like she was always trying to live up to the expectations of who she was supposed to be. Bosses make jobs a lot more stressful sometimes. There are some bosses that are pretty nice, but for the most part, I'd say people don't really like their bosses. When someone is given power, they think it gives them a right to be a jerk to you.

Bosses can make you feel like a peasant in their presence. They can make you feel like you aren't worthy (Wayne's World just popped into my head) I used to feel like such a wimp when I was around my boss and she was a girl, now how bad is that folks? I'd say the number one reason why jobs stink is because you are working for someone. You're in their world. Wouldn't you rather live in your world?

An Ounce of social conditioning

There is nothing wrong with having a job that you hate. It is a choice like anything else. But, if it makes your life stink then you should find a way to get out of it asap. I think we're conditioned into thinking that we're not supposed to like our jobs. We're taught to walk around with our heads down and just accept mediocrity.

I don't think that is a good way to live. You have to love what you do. Jobs don't give you the freedom to live your life to the fullest. Jobs keep you down. Jobs make you think that you need them, you don't. Live your dream and live your passion. Don't buy into the idea that you need to live securely. Take a risk and see where it takes you. Good luck and see you on the other side.

Do you hate your job?
