Benefits of Working for Yourself

Updated on March 13, 2019

Benefits of working for yourself

There are limitless benefits for you as a person when it comes to working for yourself. For example making your own hours, wearing whatever you want the list is limitless. When you see the ads, for home based jobs what do you think? Do you just let them pass you by or do you investigate them, and try them? The limitless number of things that you can do with home based jobs might surprise you, you can make your own hours and do anything you want really, as long as you get the work done. I have applied for a number of home based jobs but haven’t gotten a call or email about them. That hasn’t stopped me. I treat writing on HubPages as a job. What about being an online coach of some sort or having your own online business like Etsy. All these things can be limitless and still make you money if you work hard enough at them that is. As I said before I treat HubPages as a job.

This means I work for myself and the benefits of it are great they are limitless. I can do limitless things when working for myself, I can work whenever I want, for as long as I want. I can even work wherever I want. For example in my room, my kitchen, living room, or on my deck which I am doing right now. You don’t have anyone to answer to when you work for yourself. The benefits of working for yourself is it teaches you time management skills and organizational skills you otherwise would not have to use perfectly, in another job setting. What I mean by that is, you get paid hourly at other jobs so if it takes you two hours to do something you usually get paid for it.

Time management when you work for yourself is more difficult, to do because you have a house to take care of. Which you see every day and if you work outside of the house you just see it at the end of the day. When you work for yourself you see little things that need to be done, besides work, so you are more likely to stop and do the other things rather than work. That is why you need to manage your time and do the little things either before you start working or after you finish for the day. I would suggest doing the little things to keep your house in order before you start because you will be more productive that way and not be so distracted. But after you are done, cleaning up and making your house work friendly for you, then you can work for an extended period of time.

Having organization, when you work for yourself, is key because you won’t get frazzled or distracted too easily. If you don’t know where the stuff you are working on is, or if you finished a specific task then you are going to not want to get more done. That is why if you work from home you need to stay organized so you know what you have done and what needs to be done still. A lot of time and effort goes into building the job that you want, and that is when it becomes limitless or seems that way, but once you master it you will be where you want to be.
