You think the Housing Market is depressed now
With the passage of Cap and Trade the Obama Regime will have successfully eliminated the middle class dream; at least that part of the middle class dream that deals with home ownership. HR 2454, affectionately known as Cap and Tax will so severely handicap home ownership no one will dare venture into the quest and we will all be forced into Government Hovels wherein we can be more closely monitored and controlled.
Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Cap and Trade Act, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and water efficiency standards of this Act which was passed by the House of Representatives, and is awaiting passage by the Senate. Remember Rham Emanuel’s famous words; never let a crisis go to waste? Well, rest assured they will be pushing Cap and Tax hard on the heels of the recent Gulf Oil Spill. With the passage of this atrocity comes the largest tax increase any of us has ever experienced.
The Congressional Budget Office estimates that in just a few years the average cost increase to every family will be $6,800 per year. No one is excluded. However, the lower classes will get a tax refund (even if they pay no taxes at all) to offset this new cost; another example of Obama’s Redistribution of the Wealth Policies. Mr. And Mrs. Middle Class have to pay even more since additional tax dollars will be needed to bail out everyone else.
Remember that earlier statement dealing with selling your house, well here’s how that works. If you do not have enough money to make the required major upgrades to your home, then you cannot sell it. Even pre-fabricated homes ("mobile homes") are included. In effect, this bill prevents you from selling your home without the permission of the EPA administrator. Looks like Al Gore’s incontinent truth has come home to roost; the truth is the Incontinence is yours!
Continuing on, to get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home
measured. Then the government will tell you what your new energy efficiency requirement is and you will be forced to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements. No my friends this is not excerpts from Chairman Mao’s Peoples Republic of China Guide to Good and Efficient Housing this is legislation being proposed in the good ole U.S of A!
Following your strict adherence to the above mentioned regulations you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a "label" in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is. All prospective buyers; if there are enough people left in this country with a job so as to be able to buy a home, will be able to compare your efficiency rating with your neighbors.
Here’s another little stinger to keep the rabble in their place. The EPA administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act. This administrator is appointed by the President, of course; thus the creation of yet another Czar, the Cap & Trade Czar!
And as expected with this bunch, here’s the sleight of hand associated with this "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009"(How’s that for a Razzle Dazzle Name). Energy requirements and regulation
standards are set low initially so the bill will pass Congress; then the newly appointed Cap and Tax Czar can set much tougher new standards every year.
So as the case with every other piece of Legislation Proposed and passed by this Regime, bend over America here comes another Tax Increase!
