Are you less likely to trust someone with disgusting breath?

The other day I was talking with a businessman who has terrible breath. I felt I was being tortured by the smell when he explained the details of his business to me. I wanted to get away from him. My secret thoughts were "How can this man run a business if he does not even know he is putting people off with that disgusting smell?" Do you think my initial thoughts were overly judgemental?

it is harder to listen to what the person is saying in that kind of situation ... i remember an old boss who used to really get in your face and used to spit while he talked ... not easy to concentrate on what the person is saying when you're trying to dodge your way from an erupting mouth ...

trust is completely different though ... has nothing to do with the person's abilities as a business person. if there is a lot of customer facing involved by that person then it would be a no ... but if his work is behind the scenes then all good ... next time talk to him on the phone. wink
