Have you ever had a boss who micromanages his staff?

I have been lucky to have a boss who gives me some space. However, there are times when he DOES micromanage and I start feeling claustrophobic! He doesn't do it often - just on some projects - but I don't appreciate it at all!

It is indeed very counter-productive! You start becoming conscious of what you're doing trying to make sure you don't cross the line or whatever and this of course affects your efficiency, effectivity and productivity!

True, there's always the option of getting another job. But with the economy, this is perhaps not the most viable option for everyone. Now I see why it's better to have no one else as your boss - just yourself. This is my goal in the near future.:-)
