Has anybody else noted a dramatic drop in traffic and adsense revenue over the last 10 days?

I have a wordpress blog that was consistently getting clicks over the last few months, but that has been shut down to a trickle and traffic has decreased by about 40%. I am also seeing less income and traffic on HubPages and several other sites. Has there been a new Google algorithm introduced recently? If so, what can be done? I have been working on making more social contacts to compensate, but I know that this strategy will take some time to realize effects.

I still have 3 of my sites on the first page for my main keyword phrase. I am still confused. It may be some of the related keywords that I am trying to rank for, but I really haven't been that aggressive in back-linking for these other words.

From what I read, people with good, original content are being hit as well as those who spun content and used grey or black hat link building methods. Seems like Google's new Penguin algorithm is screwing Google as much as us little guys.
