   How many brands do you recognise.
   
   Research indicates that children as young a 6 years of age are familiar with 1,000's of brands and logo's. Do you think this is a good or bad idea for children?
   Below is an early soda or pop bottle. It went by the fetching name of Codswallop.
   It was very popular in it's time, based on the number of bottles found along the shores of the River Thames. Today 'Codswallop' means something entirely different.

   Earlier brands used to be specific as per geographical locations and a brand popular at one place may not be popular at another place. But now the brands have gone global and everybody want to go by the global brands only. Even Individuals can have their own branded names so that they can be easily recognized from their name. I have branded my self as WQAINDIA where WQA is short form of my blog title WebQuestionAnswers, which makes it different from unbranded blogs, and India is country of my origin. Now the bottle seen above, if branded, may become popular otherwise it will be called country made soft drink. Similarly an icon can make a brand more popular and even if there is no name then icons make the branded items to attract more and more. These branded name and icons, on gaining popularity, command royalty. Royalty in the sense that  established brands tie up with manufacturers to brand their products, subject to their own brand's quality standards, in lieu of franchise. But it is my experience that in this commercial word established brands en-cash the trust and faith of their followers in the same way as political leaders forget their electorate after getting elected.
