For those that work/write from home, do you think your time working at home is respected?

Do you think your time is as well respected as when you are working at in office or outside of the home? I tend to get phone calls and messages from people wondering what I'm doing all day when I've made it clear to them that I work out of a studio in my home. It's annoying. So annoying, that I shut my ringer off and listen to the messages when I want to instead of being interrupted every day by nonsense. I never received such phone calls when I worked at an office for many years, unless someone was genuinely interested in retaining my services.

So true Stephanie! I am bombarded with interruptions either on my phone or at my door by people who just don't understand that I'm working. They have a day off so they think I'm free to play too!

I can see it from that point of view. I have several people that phone me constantly and then act like I'm not doing a thing. Even when I politely tell them that I'm working, they downplay it as if working from home isn't really working.

I know Billy! It really gets upsetting to me because people act like I'm sitting here staring into space doing nothing. Fortunately, it's no one close to me so I can turn the phone off.

There's nothing worse than trying to study under constant interruption or noise.
