Do YOU agree that leadership is an inner trait and either a person has that
capability/characteristic/personality or doesn't?
I would tend to agree for the most part. However there are always exceptions such as when a person is (pushed or forced) into a leadership role due to unforeseen circumstances.
We rise to the occasion. "If it's going to be it's up to me!"
Some examples might include a woman who suddenly finds herself being a single parent after a divorce, a person who is laid off and builds a business because they were unable to find a job, or maybe they were content being the #2 person in an organization but something happens to the #1 person.
"A diamond is a piece of coal that made good under pressure."
In other instances people with "know how" lack the ability to connect or inspire others so they become the man/woman behind the king or queen offering them advice and guidance. It's a case of the "king maker" having the right message but being the wrong messenger. Therefore they seek someone to back who looks the part.
Overtime the person "selected" grows into their leadership role.
ABSOLUTELY NOT. I teach business management in college.
NOTHING is an inner trait; if something was, a whole lot of people
would not be going to college.
I was carrying, as a kid, near nothing. I was respectful since it was
that or get whacked a lot.
45+ yrs later, I have become a world record holder in 5 fields. I do
mini bragging. It is neat but I never stop cause my skills
allow me to solve national problems quickly--that does NOT mean the
nations accept my mechanical solutions..........
But whenever I ask a gov leader or dept head, why are you not doing this??
I get, wow that is fantastic and would solve our problems but our
boss does not permit innovation. We just do what we are told to do.
That attitude is pervasive world-wide.
The lady is smart about a lot of things but no on this one.

According to author Charles Murray, high school students who are in the bottom 40% percentile of their classes should not even bother to attend college because college courses are too rigiorous and advanced for such students. Do you agree with this premise?

I live in Tampa Bay, and recently, I heard about the news about one area teenager holding up a sign that said, "I did 4 questions on my FCAT and said I wasn’t going to do it…GPA 1.22…honk if I need (an) education.“ If you don't know what the heck is FCAT, it's my state's standardized test...
