Will German car giant VW go bust or should it be banned?

VW cars have admitted cheating by installing software in their cars to fool the emission test. VW owns Audi, Seat and Skoda as well as VW cars. Some think top executives should go to jail. Is this an example of top people exploiting the masses just as the bankers have risked billions by cheating with the bank rates?

Good point taken re workers and jobs. The fines and legal proceedings will keep VW in the public eye for years so no danger of repeat criminality. But the fact remains - they knew what they were doing - to save money? No. To be smart? Yes.

VW is a huge company and makes great profits each year yet has overstepped the line with arrogant criminality. Why they chose to do this is strange - were they saving money or just being too smart?
