Upper income households have a cook, maid, & gardener either living on the property or near by. They may even have private nannies for their children, lawyers to advise them, &/or accountants or other financial advisers. Upper income people are vastly different from other socioeconomic classes. No, they don't have drawers full of cash. They have monies & other investments in the bank &/or in other investment venues.
Also there are various types of upper income households. There are the old rich & the new rich. The old rich are very nondescript in terms of lifestyle. They are understated in their lifestyle. They are rich but they don't flaunt their wealth. In fact, they believe that to flaunt their wealth is vulgar, tasteless, & classless. They use their monies wisely. They buy things of value & won't hesitate to use the same product over & over. They are the type who buy quality clothes & wear them for......years. They have maids & needed staff on their property but they use their monies for investments. They are ones loath to waste their monies on what they consider to be extravagances. They can be considered to be frugal in comparison to their income.
The new rich are the ones who epitomize being rich. They are the ones who others visualize when the word rich comes to mind. They aren't above flaunting their wealth. In the minds of the new rich if one HAS it, h/she should FLAUNT it! After all, in the minds of the new rich, one lives only once, so live life to the fullest extent. They aren't not above showing the accoutrements of their socioeconomic class. Maids, lawyers, accountants(the smart ones), lots of extravagant fashions, furniture, & other items associated w/the new rich.
