That is good advice. I like one outlet mall of this type up in mid-Michigan around Frankenmuth. It has always been very safe.
There is a nearby area with a lot of mom and pop shops where I go once in a while
One of our largest Macy's closed shortly after the old Lazarus store become the Macy's. I think these places are too expensive. .
Patty...OH yeah...and money too! LOL. I forgot about that! I used to love to window shop.I suppose we STILL "window" shop online & there's so much to see....cheaper too. easy access to coffee & restrooms...!! :)
My biggest thing at malls were book stores. We had two and they both closed. Guess they couldn't compete with B & N
Faster to find something online these days; I find brick & mortar stores out of stock too often. An I loved the bookstores too. We had 3 in one mall once; all gone now.
OMG! A friend & I would actually plan to spend nearly an entire afternoon at Border's Book Store & Cafe. It was like a treat~~a little bit of Heaven for me. Yes, now closed! :(
I did the same thing with Borders. I am sad that they are all gone.
They can't stop me! I've resorted back to the local library!! :)
Some libraries have coffee bars these days. :)
My two bookstores were B. Dalton and Waldon the second one was a part of borders.
I remember both of those and we had Little Professor in the same shopping mall. That was a great store. They had live piano music on Sundays.
I did go to the mall before Christmas so I could pick out the presents my husband was going to buy for me. Got to wrap them myself as well. But I may only go once a year.
I thought it was a really big deal to visit the huge mall outside Wash. DC at Tyson's Corners years ago - it had bird cages of live exotic birds for decor. I wonder what's happening there?
A display of exotic birds would be a big deal in terms of attracting customers. More malls should get creative to bring back the shoppersl
Same with Destiny USA. There is a lot of other stuff to do there. It's about an hour from where I live.
