The answer would depend on circumstances. Many a dad has worked at a job he did not prefer because he wanted to provide for his family (sometimes only to have children grow up and mock him for that choice). Teaching a very young person about this concept gave them the chance to make a choice for a meaningful job before they started a family. Of course, the social climate today is very different and the face of society reflects fewer dads in kids lives at all, but that's a different topic. After giving this a bit of thought, I would have to say that the definition of meaningful might be different for different people.
