At what stage of the interview should the salary package be brought up?
That is in case it has not been mentioned at all by the interviewer?
Let the interviewer bring up salary first. Then ask them what the salary range is for that position. If the interviewer does not bring up salary then they are not interested in hiring you or salary will be discussed in a future interview.
Please don't raise any thing on the salary from your end first. Generally the interviewers either explain about the package or inquire about your expectation. Let them come out and wait for that moment and finally you can share your expectations or thoughts over it.
The interviewer will let you know when they are interested. I suggest you don't ask first.
Let the interviewer broach the question and make sure you have done some research on typical salary for the position you are applying for. In addition, know what you want and need to earn.
Thank you all for your inputs. Just had an interview and the interviewer brought up the subject at the very end. Overall it was nice and I am hoping for a good package (it is undergoing further discussion in a positive direction!).

I didn't have to interview for my first job at Jimmy John's, but I did have to briefly interview for my job as a dishwasher. I don't consider that a REAL interview though because I didn't have to dress up, there were enough positions to go around and it was a five minute interview talking about...
