"The important thing is not being afraid to take a chance. Remember, the greatest failure is to not try. Once you find something you love to do, be the best at doing it." Debbi Fields, founder of Mrs. Fields Cookies.

It is not hard to look around at today's society and see it was mostly founded upon committed entrepreneurship, built on the backbone of a passionate dream.

Entrepreneurship (or the act of being one), is one who undertakes innovations, finance and business acumen in an effort to transform innovations into economic goods. A perceived opportunity from the person in whom the "idea" is flowing from.

Actually, participating in a new business creation or activity is quite common among U.S. workers over the course of our careers. That is quite an achievement considering how many people actually live in the United States.

Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Enterprises quoted: " Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming."

Entrepreneurship results in new industries and new combinations of currently existing businesses. It is about taking a risk. The behavior of a person who is a true entrepreneur is the kind of person willing to put his or her career and financial security on the line, taking risks in the name of an idea. A hope. All because of a dream.

"Entrepreneurs are risk takers, willing to roll the dice with their money or reputation on the line in support of an idea or enterprise." Victor Kiam.

Many people have argued that entrepreneurs have extreme optimism in their decision making process. They are a tough individual. Pragmatic. Driven by a passionate need to achieve and an even stronger urge to build something!

They may be prone to over confidence. Over generalizations. Creative ingenuity. They must constantly learn something new. They are seldom willing to submit to authority.

And why should they? I mean, come on here. How would the light bulb have been invented if the inventor himself punched a time clock under a strict boss eight hours a day?

Entrepreneurs have to be tough people, not wusses when it comes to the business world. They have to stand their ground. Keep fighting for what they believe in, even when the economic world screams out: "You're not going to make it you dummy!"

"When you reach an obstacle, turn it into an opportunity. You have the choice. You can overcome and be a winner, or you can allow it to overcome you and be a loser. The choice is yours and yours alone. Refuse to throw in the towel. Go that extra mile that failures refuse to travel. It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure." Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics.

America was built upon people who possessed the spirit of drive and individualism. God did not create all men to be the same. We do not look the same, nor does everyone have the same qualities and opinions on life in general. We are all uniquely created, given a gift of creativity to be our own person within the genetics we were born with.

"The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer." Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese's.

True entrepreneurship has uncertainty because you try to bring something new into the world in which the market for it does not exist. There is a good reason why entrepreneurs possess the spirit of leadership. They don't want a boss. They are their own boss and do well at dictating their daily passion, which is their dream!

"Innovation is the specific tool of entrepreneurs, the means by which they exploit change as an opportunity for a different business or a different service." Peter F. Drucker.

Entrepreneurs support economic growth. They have learned to adapt to the environment by being creative in their business ventures. They have worked hard to turn their passions into a real life dream for others to follow. They have fine tuned their skills and innovations.

They don't give up. They don't give in. They push ahead, no matter what is at stake. Simply because they followed their dreams with a passion that still lives in America today.

True entrepreneurship will never die. The human spirit possess qualities that drive the world in an endeavor, saturated with a heart felt passion to accomplish a purpose in life.

"Success to me is not about money or status or fame, its about finding a livelihood that brings me joy and self-sufficiency and a sense of contributing to the world." Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop.

What dream is brewing within you?

If you have a dream, through time, it will slowly fester, manifesting itself into a passion that you have to do something about. Each person has a purpose brewing deep inside. If you are made for entrepreneurship you will not allow yourself to be squashed to a time clock working for someone else. You would rather die than do that anyway.

Perseverance is a powerful tool to pursuing a dream. Just look at the quotes from some of the most famous entrepreneurs above. The pushed forward, they didn't give up, they didn't give in. They kept going no matter the odds because their hope of the dream they had was stronger than the naysayers.

If you find yourself in this shape, and cannot stop thinking or pursuing a dream, then welcome to the world of entrepreneurship!
