Best Laptop Table for a Couch
The Best Laptop Table for a Couch Depends on How You Use Your Computer
I love being able to use my laptop on the couch. The best laptop table depends on how you use your computer, how you like to sit, if you prefer to use a laptop mouse, and if you need room for other materials on your couch table.
I bought my first used laptop in 1996 and my first new laptop in 1997. I loved being able to travel with my computer, and to be able to work wherever I wanted to, whether that was in a hotel room, at a client's office, or relaxing on the couch, watching TV while I worked. Of course, back then, laptops were more difficult to use without a mouse, and there wasn't a lot to choose from if you were looking for the best laptop table.
Today, you can find tables that sit on the floor, that tilt or move on wheels, that have a spot for a computer mouse, and that even have cooling fans to cool your laptop, or a lamp to light your laptop table.
I like to sit on the couch with my legs crossed, or with my feet on an ottoman in front of me, and I rarely use an additional computer mouse. I have a couple of different types of laptop tables for my couch. One is especially made for laptops, one has a pullout tray for a mouse, and the other is designed for small objects, but I use it for my laptop when I want to shift positions to get more comfortable.
For some reason, I never feel as creative when I'm sitting in front of a desktop computer as when I'm sitting with my laptop on a couch!
How about you? Do you find that sitting upright at a desk stifles your creativity?
Do you like to use your laptop while you are sitting on the couch?
I recently spent a couple of weeks sick in bed, basically flat on my back. When I was feeling a bit better I wanted to use my laptop and tablet and neither were comfortable without a table or tray. I was lucky that I had several different options for holding my gadgets. I can use my laptop for a short period of time without a table, but its hard on my arms and it does get warm on the bottom of the laptop. However, if I use my adjustable laptop table, I can type easily and not have my wrists and forearms pressed against the edge of the laptop in an uncomfortable way.
