How to make one field into different columns in Microsoft Excel

One of the problem data organisers often face is how to extract or separate strings. This is often the case with email marketing professionals as well as people who have a set of imported csv data. The answer to such problems is DELIMIT function in Microsoft Excel.

There's a simple delimit expression which helps you break the strings at specific break points. All one needs to do is click on DATA in the top menu and then select the column with data and then select TEXT TO COLUMN in top navigation. It will split your data at the common breaks specified by you which could be space, semi colons or commas.
