Earning money online isn't impossible. Here are a bunch of ideas to get you started!

So you want to earn money online without investing any of your own money?

The good news is you can, but it will take effort. If you are willing to put forth that effort, then you can certainly earn money online without investing any money!

There are a number of ways for you to earn money online without investing, but I must caution: patience is required. Making money online usually follows the same pattern; it trickles in at first, then grows.

The more effort you put in, the more profit you get out. Simple enough equation, right? Now, I'm going to show you how to earn money online without investing a single penny.

Choose how you want to make money online

There are tons of money making ideas online, but I hope this article helps you figure out what you want to try out. Remember, failure just teaches you what you need to do differently. The beautiful thing about becoming an Internet entrepreneur is that not only can you make money online, but you have a bunch of choices! Here are some of the choices available to you for making money online:

Making money by writing online.

Writing for Money

To make money online, you have to offer value. Content is one of the ways you can offer value. There are a bunch of ways to offer content, so let's cover them.

Earn Income with Hubpages

Hubpages is an excellent way to earn money online without investing any of your own capital. You sign up for a free account (ref) and begin writing whatever you have on your mind. Hubpages takes a 40% cut of the revenues you earn, but don't wince right away, Hubpages provides a ton of value, such as:

  1. A huge community.
  2. Search engine optimization (SEO).
  3. An easy interface.
  4. Automatic ad placement and optimization.
  5. Suggestions as you write, and topic suggestions.
  6. Traffic stats, and analytics to help you do better.

There are more benefits, but I've simply covered the best in my opinion. These benefits mean: you're nearly guaranteed traffic right away, and Hubpages helps you optimize your articles for success. For anyone who has started a blog on their own, it's clear right away that the Internet can be a very cold, lonely place. Hubpages takes away that frustration. When you think of everything Hubpages offers, 40% doesn't seem like that high of a cost anymore!

Other Freelance Writing Sites

There are other article submission sites out there such as Squidoo, Helium and ZuJava, but Hubpages has given me the best results. Feel free to explore the other offerings, but I highly recommend Hubpages.

Want to Make Money From Blogging?

If you don't want to share your revenues, then that's OK too. You can always start your own blog or website completely for free using a service such as

There are other blogging services available, but they don't let you put up Google ads, and they often put their own ads on your site! Blogger lets you have nearly full control of your website, it's free, it lets you place ads on the site, and it is super simple to use.

When you sign up, you get the chance to choose a URL that will look like this: Some people might feel the need to get their own domain, but there are plenty of popular blogs that use the URL such as:

If you wanted your own .com domain, then you can get it for $10/year through the Blogger service. It's your choice, but Blogger gives you the ability to have your own website, earn money online without investing your own money, and you don't have to share your revenue with anyone else.

Make money from wherever you choose with online jobs.

Online Jobs

There are numerous ways to get a job online now and work from the comfort of your own home. Most of the positions are considered "freelance" which means you do work for numerous people and companies on a per-job basis.

You can also find plenty of companies that hire remote employees, you just need to search for these opportunities. Make money online with freelance work:

Fiverr is one of the stranger ways to make money on this list, but the idea is that you have a skill (no matter how strange it is) and there are people that want to pay you for it. Literally, you list your skill, and someone pays you $5 if they want to use it. You can also include up-sells, but the base price starts at $5. Some examples of what people are paying for on Fiverr:

  • Music Lessons
  • Personal Training
  • Writing a company's name on a dog and video taping it
  • A guy will sing you happy birthday while wearing a Speedo.

Things deviate quite quickly, but you get the idea. People pay for weird things, and this might just be a great way for you to make money online without investment!.

99 Designs

99 Designs is a place a person can go to get a logo designed. If you have graphic design skill, then you can sign up to submit your own designs along with other designers that are competing for the job. If the person likes your design enough, then they choose it as the winner and you get paid. Some people love this model, other people don't, but it's certainly worth a look.

Freelance Marketplaces:

For more general freelance work, below is a list of well-known freelance marketplaces. You fill out a profile detailing your personality, skills and qualifications and people can select you for jobs or ongoing work. Whatever your skill is, you can be hired on a freelance marketplace. Examples of skills that are listed on these marketplaces include:

  • Web Development
  • Proofreading
  • Article Writing
  • Graphic Design
  • Customer Service Representatives
  • Email Management
  • Translation
  • Data Entry
  • Marketing

The list keeps going. Simply put: if you have any skill at all on a computer, then there is probably someone who wants to hire you. Below are some of the sites where you can begin posting profiles:

Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants are like real-world assistants but they operate solely over a computer or phone. The common description of a virtual assistant is: they can do anything a normal assistant can do except get your coffee or pick up your dry cleaning.

There are numerous virtual assistant companies you can apply to, but if you prefer to work for yourself, then you can start your own website and post your prices (remember, you can start a free website using Blogger).

Beverly started her own website HeroDesk and has enjoyed success as an independent Virtual Assistant. You can also list your services on one of the freelance marketplaces listed above. I actually found my virtual assistant on oDesk and he rocks! There are other companies that specialize in virtual assistants only, some include:

Some may not be hiring at certain times, but if you ever need to inquire, then just contact them using their contact forms!

You Want More Money?

Earn Money by Selling Products

Write an eBook

Have you ever wanted to write your own book? Do it! Write a quality eBook and sell it. I'm making this sound deceptively easy (which it isn't), but it's possible.

I don't use the word "quality" loosely. You must provide value to your customers. When you sell an eBook, you are competing with all of the free content that a person can find with a simple Google search.

Selling the eBook can be a bit tougher, but there are plenty of services that will host your book, take payment and securely deliver your eBook to your customers all while taking a percentage of the selling price. Some services include:

To earn money online without investing, you often have to share revenue with companies that provide the services you need. That is the case for many of the services above.

There are numerous other options available to you, but that should be plenty to get you started. If you don't want to share your revenue with anyone, then you can start your own website, but I think you'll quickly realize the value these services offer.

Affiliate Marketing

If you don't want to write your own book, depend on Google Ads or get an online job then you can make money by selling other peoples products!

This is often referred to as affiliate marketing, and it has gotten a bad reputation because of abuse. If you are an honest person, who is transparent, then affiliate marketing is still a great way to make money online.

Affiliate marketing works by helping people find products. Now, there are two different views on this:

The spammer method: Spammers send out unsolicited links to people with the intention of tricking or coercing people into clicking on the link to buy a product. This is not how you should do it.

The honest method:Create value for your potential customer. Give an honest review (include shortcomings!) and give your buyer the choice. Let customers know that you're going to benefit from them clicking your link.

Consider going as far as offering a non-affiliate link in addition to your affiliate link. After all, if the person reading your review doesn't believe you deserve a commission, then maybe you didn't create enough value.

If you've provided value to your customer, then they'll often be more than happy to click your link, and they'll respect you for not trying to trick them.

How to become an affiliate:

You typically need to apply to an affiliate program in order to qualify. Numerous companies offer affiliate programs such as:

Sell through social connections

Affiliate Programs

Yes, Amazon has their own affiliate program. They payouts aren't huge, but they offer nearly every kind of product a person could want! I've used Amazon for years and I've never once had a problem with getting paid. Additionally, people trust Amazon, and probably have already shopped there before!

eJunkie sells tons of digital info products. You can browse through their catalog to see if there is anything that you might like to sell such as an eBook or eCourse.

Other Affiliate Options:

There are also companies that handle affiliate programs for other businesses. What this means is that these companies allow you to apply to be affiliates for thousands of different companies. Examples include:

I hope this has served as a useful guide for you. That covers the majority of the ways that I can think of for you to earn money online without investing any of your own money.
