How to make from the comfort of your own home
Welcome to my lens everyone,
I created this lens just to write about my experience in making money without having the typical 9 to 5 job everyone helps. I will be talking about 2 main subjects here. My experience selling on eBay and my experience in network marketing specifically ACN. I hope everyone enjoys my lens and if anyone has any questions specifically about ACN, you guys could always email me. I will try to be available.
It's so Important to Ship with Signature Confirmation
Today I just wanted to make a quick post about how important it is to ship with signature confirmation when dealing on eBay and using paypal. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this in a previous post but it's so important i thought about writing about it again. As usual, this morning I wen't on the eBay message boards and a fellow seller wrote about how they sent a package worth $2500 to France without any signature confirmation. What happened and what will happen in this case is the following.
The buyer started a dispute against this seller that they did not receive their item even if tracking showed that it was delivered. It's very possible that this buyer didn't receive the item. It happens and I've personally see it happen. the problem with this case is that the value is really high and many savvy buyers know that for sellers to be protected, the seller must ship any package over the value of $250, including shipping in that value, with a signature.
Now this seller didn't send the package with tracking and they will lose this dispute because of this. It really sucks for seller especially for high valued items. I personally don't sell heavy valuable items overseas unless buyer is will to pay the high shipping with UPS or FEDEX so I could have the protection of signature confirmation.
the lesson learned is ALWAYS SHIP WITH SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION FOR VALUES OF $250 OR HIGHER. This includes shipping for example, you sell an item for $249 + $2 shipping for a total of $251. If you did not send this package with signature confirmation then you will lose any none receipt case against you because the total is over $250.
Where to Get Your Packaging Supplies
Today I decided to create a new category for my posting. I'm going to start sharing the best places I have found to order supplies for your business. In today's post I'm gonna talk about one of the best sellers for bubble mailers, tape and shipping labels. The place that I always order my mailers, tape and labels are Valuemailers on amazon.com. These guys are the best value wise. I can't say there always the cheapest but even if you pay an $1.00 with these guys, the service they give is worth the extra small cost.
Until now they have been the cheapest place and the service is amazing. They're really good for people living in the east cost because you could receive your stuff the next day in some cases. They usually ship the next day and all their items are packed properly. I'm sure some online sellers could find cheaper prices but honestly their service is so good that it's worth paying a dollar or two extra for their product.
To use 1 day handling or not to use 1 day handling on eBay
Hey fellow sellers or soon to be sellers. I wanted to talk today about the 1 day handling and 14 day return policy that eBay is pushing on sellers. I can't remember when this started but it start sometime around August of September which is about when I started to sell on eBay again after a long break. Well I was against this at first and agreed with most eBay sellers that this was not good for us and that eBay is messing with our businesses. Well I've changed my mind after testing this the last 2 months.
Because of work and because of my ACN business, I had a limited amount of time to pack and ship packages. I would only ship once a week and I would make this very clear in my listings. My sales were good. Anywhere from 30 to 50 packages every week. I was happy and my clients were happy. During this time something happened to my shipping process and I was forced to find a way to fix my problem. After finding my solution, I realized that I could now offer a 1 day handling (which doesn't really mean ship in one day). We'll I went a head and switched all my listing to a 1 day handling.
Well I was blown away. In the first 2 days of this I had 50 sales which blew away my best week which was 53 sales. It helped that I had just put up some new popular items but this had never happened in the past. Since then I've kept on with the 1 day handling and my sales are consistently anywhere between 15 to 20 sales per 2 days with old inventory and then I get an explosion of about 30 to 40 sales per 2 days when I put up new fresh inventory. The benefits I've seen the last 2 months of 1 day handling , if we take the most conservative numbers, is an increase in sales by 75% but I also qualify for the 20% discount that eBay offers. so not only did my sales and income increase but I also got a nice discount on my fees.
As for 1 day handling not being "ship with in a day", eBay only requires you upload a valid tracking number within 1 business day. So lets say you really need 2 or 3 days to get your stuff ready, then all you need to do is preprint a shipping label and upload the tracking. If it takes more than 3 days for you to get something ready then I suggest you don't do this since you will start to get complaints. The majority of buyers are pretty patient but you also can't push them to far.
Slowly building my business & it does work. All you need is to put some effort
Well I have to say that I must have had the best week in sales. In a span of 2 days, I sold 50 items, on eBay amazon and some other sites i list on including my personal website. My previous record was about 50 items in 1 full week. I must say that I was very happy after that second day. Sales have been slower lately but that is only because I haven't listed any new but sales are still coming in. I find this big boom came from offering a 1 day handling time for shipping including free shipping. People might say well I can't be going to the post office everyday. Well as long as you upload tracking to eBay and you get your packages ready within the 1 day handling time then you shouldn't worry about going to the post office daily. Go every second day. 99% of the time it won't make a difference to your client.
As for free shipping, we all know that free shipping is not really free unless a company got some crazy deal for shipping their items out. you just have to figure out your shipping cost and add it to you start price. I usually take the cost of the furthest most expensive place, which is California, and add it that cost to my start price. Voila, you now have a 1 day handling time and free shipping.
Another part of my business that is growing is my telecom business through ACN. I know what a lot of people think, but they are 100% wrong and my team is proof of that. For me ACN is a 3rd income so I don't put much time. In the last 11 months, I've put maybe 30 hours of work into it and I currently have my phone and internet services free (used to cost about $924 a year) and I'm currently getting commissions of about $100 a month. All of this for an investment of about 30 hours and $500. Not bad for a 3rd income., I could only imagine what I would get if I put a few more hours a week into this. I'm planning to increase the time spent in ACN but I have to wait until my other commitments are finished before I could do that. Until then, my team is growing and i have people in my team that are doing a lot better than me money wise. It all comes down to effort. If you don't do nothing and expect results, you're wasting you time, If you put a little time and you follow the system to the "T" then you will make money. Just don't expect instant riches.
What Happened to the eBay Pulse?
I'm not sure if anybody noticed but eBay killed one of their best pages. They eliminated the eBay pulse page. what a shame. It was a great free tool to see what was popular and a great way to find hot products to sell. I'm not sure what the reason was for it but they got rid of it. I guess Terapeak.com is the only good way left to search for hot products.
My best guess to why they got rid of it is because it was abused. Their was less abuse in the last 4 years compared to the years 2006-2008 when 3 sellers completely dominated the pulse by creating fake users to watch their items. I think this was still going on till they closed the page. I guess when good things get abused, at the end we all lose. I think the same thing happened to digitally downloaded items that were also eliminated on eBay around 2008.
Well rest in peace eBay Pulse because it doesn't look like eBay will bring it back like they were saying. If I find a good free method to search for hot items on eBay, I will definitely write about it and share the information with everybody

Make Money Now
I can't believe it's been 5 months since I last posted. I don't know where to start. When I first put up this blog, it was all about eBay. Then it sent to all about ACN. Then I posted about eBay again and then I was gone. In this post I'm gonna talk about both these topics a little and hopefully starting today I will post more regularly to keep everyone up to date.
To start off, about 3 to 4 months ago I started selling on eBay again. I was surprised how everything picked up right from where I left it 8 month before that. I'm up to selling 30 to 50 packages a week. The problem is finding the items I sell more regularly. Right now I can't complain and I'm having fun selling in general. You do get the odd buyer that kind of grinds your gears but overall very happy with everything on eBay. Selling on eBay the way I do also allows me to do some cross boarder shopping ;). BTW If anyone is in near the Lacolle boarder and plans to sell online should call these guys up http://www.americanparcels.com/. They give you a US address where you could ship too and you could also leave your items there and have them ship for you. Great guys and great service. Moving on, eBay rolled out some new changes. Overall they haven't affect me much but some seller are going crazy over the fact they will lose a 20% discount on their eBay fees. I suggest to all eBay sellers not to care about this discount and focus on selling and selling more. A discount is nice but don't stop selling and doing other crazy things because you won't get this discount anymore. If for some reason you need this to survive, then I suggest you close shop because your business model is crap. I've been on the message boards and seen sellers complain about not getting any sales and losing their discount which will ruin them and when I check their stores, they are selling items that are either in a category with crazy competition like clothing and they have maybe 20 items or selling collectibles that nobody wants. If this is you, either find something new to sell or stop selling.
As for my other business, things are going well. I honestly haven't put much effort into ACN. I've been in it for about 9 months and maybe put in 15 hours total but I've almost maxed out my client base to get my 10% commission rate and doing good with finding other to do the business. For the people who tried ACN and said all sorts of bad thing are just upset that they couldn't make it work for them selves. Anyone could make money doing this as long as they keep up with it even if you're not the most open person. I'm a pretty reserved guy but I try to put myself out there and if you do, you will make money at this. If anyone wants to know more let me know. People who don't make money and call it a scam are ones that sign up, do nothing and expect money to come in which is exactly what you're not supposed to do in ACN. Like anything else you have to work it. The more you put in the more you will make.
Well that's my post for today. I hope I could keep posting
New eBay automated returns. Should you opt in?
I hope everyone is well today. As of today I still haven't started my negative posting test but I will soon. Today I want to talk about eBays new automated return system. Depending on the seller, this could be a good thing or a bad thing. I personally don't like it because I'm pretty good at talking to my clients and solving their issues. If you opt in, I see this only as an increase to your costs because people will just send back the item with contacting you and you will have to eat the original cost.
As a seller it's important to learn how to communicate with your buyers and fix problems. With this type of skill you could reduce costs but also make extra sales and get repeat customers. All this automated stuff I find gives buyers a bad experience. the only sellers that would benefit from this are huge players like diamond sellers who just don't. As normal sellers don't opt in. You could avoid many many headaches
I never new that Negativity is so strong?
Hopefully the people reading this post aren't the ones that love to find negativity. I was thinking of posting about shipping on eBay or online but I noticed something very interesting the last 2 weeks. I noticed how people are extremely attracted to negativity. I knew there was a general attraction but didn't know how strong it was. I noticed this on my youtube channel and on this blog. I'm new to online blogging and generating traffic and found it so interesting how strong negativity could be to generate traffic. I first noticed this on my youtube channel about 6 months ago. About 1 year ago I had posted 3 videos, don't have much time for more right now. 2 vids had a really upbeat theme to them and an positive informative title. The 3 vid had a positive theme but had a negative title. At the time, the negative video had a total of about 300 views and 3 or 4 comments. The 2 other vids had no comments and had a total of 5 views and probably 2 or 3 of those views were mine :).
Fast forward to today. Towards the end of last month. I posted a good themed post but had a negative title to it which was "is ACN a scam" . Before that post, I was getting anywhere from 15 to 25 views a day which is not a lot but good for my amount of postings and activity on my blog. Well after posting that negative title, views exploded for about 2 days to 80 plus views. At first I thought I got a good link somewhere and got some extra juice to my blog which I though was gonna continue. Well i posted my next post which had a good overall subject. Well my views dropped to about the same range as before and have never even been close to 80 ever again.
I'm still kind of surprised how negative people are and how we tend to gravitate, follow and look for bad and negative things.I personally try to avoid negative things as much as possible. I'm gonna test my theory out and see what will happen when I post again using some kind of negative title. Once I look over my stats I will let you guys know what I find.
Back to eBay and paypal talk make money anyway you can
Welcome back to where it all started. Decided to start focusing on my eBay stores now that ACN is kind of on autopilot. I got away from eBay a little but decide to refocus and make money every way possible. Decided to try a few thing on my eBay store to increase sales. I added a discount to every item in my store using the markdown manager and also added a charity to each one of my listings. I'm hoping this will increase traffic to my items and in turn increase sale. I'm going to be tracking this for the next few months and see where it goes. I'm also hoping to increase my sales to what they were before i let things go for a while. Hoping to get up to 50 sales a week. hopefully everything goes well ;).
I suggest all you eBayers try the markdown manager and adding a charity to your listings and see if your sales increase
Getting your home business going NOW!!!
It's been about 3 months that I've been in network marketing and it's been the best decision I've made. I haven't been working as hard as I should at it just because I'm in a transition period in my life but overall I can't complain. I was at a huge presentation yesterday with over 2000 people. The presenter was Larry Raskin and by far this has been the best presentation I've ever been to. This guy has been in network marketing for the last 25 years and has a wealth of knowledge and information. There is no way I could explain what I saw but what I can say is never give up and talk to everyone you can no matter how much money they have or how old they are. Just talk and keep on talking. also if your not in network marketing start now and check the video bellow and see what it's all about.
Can't find inventory to sell on eBay? Maybe ACN is for you?
I actually almost made a post in the same month :). Well I've been receiving some email about where to find product. Obviously, I won't mention what product I sell but I will tell you where I get it from. The items I sell, I get through many different venues. I search daily online to find the products. I do a lot of classified searches. I get the majority of my stuff locally. It's just makes things easier. The rest of my items I either get them in bulk from bulk sellers or right on eBay.com and other similar venues.
First things first, you must sell something you like but it also has to be profitable. If you like hummel figurines that's great but it's a horrible item to sell. Iphones would be a great product and most people like them but the problem is where to find them cheap enough to make a good profit. Don't rush into anything. Take your time to come up with ideas and then research them. you might be saying that's common sense but you can't imagine how many people don't study the product they decide to sell. It took me 2 years before I found the right product at the right price.
If you can't find a product to make money on then network marketing might be for you. They give you a product and a website and all you have to do is talk to people. If you want more information on Network Marketing and ACN. Send me an email
What other websites can I sell on and actually make money?
Welcome back to some more consistency everyone. Well I wanted to talk about other websites you could use for selling other than eBay. Personally I haven't found anything similar to eBay that gets me the same kind of sales but there are sites that bring in the odd sales here and there. The first and best alternative is amazon.com by far. You could sell just as much or more than on ebay on amazon.com but the drawback is that you could sell really well if you have the type of item that are already being sold on amazon especially electronics. When I have electronics, I almost always use amazon because i know I'll sell it almost right away once I list it. Amazon has it's limitations like not being able to list in all categories and some categories being closed to new sellers. Y0u're limited but there is money to be made if you're smart.
Classified adds are also great but if you don't feel comfortable meeting people than this might not be for you. Lastly Ioffer is another listing site but I would avoid it. You could make sales but I don't think it's worth the time.
Another good site is Bonanza. Depending on the product you'll make maybe 10 sales per year and it's easy to import the listings from eBay and updating is also easy. You won't make a killing but you'll make something. Ecrater is also a good site but you have to drive traffic to the site. It's a free site so not much money goes to marketing. It's pretty much an easy way to create a website. The next best option for selling online is getting your own site which is pretty cheap. All you need is about $70 for the year and you could set something up pretty quick but you will have to drive all the traffic to the site yourself. I've had moderate success with all these sites but eBay is still king.

Making money, helping people reach personal goals but very long day in the world of ACN
Good afternoon everyone,
Yesterday was a good day but a long one. I helped 3 people yesterday hit some personal goals yesterday. With to of my reps , i had to work with them using dial-up internet. it was torture but in the end it was worth it. I got there business going and at the same time that I was helping them out I got myself a bonus. I love this business and I love that you have to help each other to succeed
ACN a Scam or a Pyramid?
Wanted to make a quick post in regards to a comment I got this week. Well I was talking to someone about ACN and they asked me if it was a pyramid scam. Well I told him straight out that it's not. I've been to the ACN headquarters in NC and it looks more like a cube than a pyramid. After I said that, he gave me a look and a laugh. Well in al seriousness, it's not a pyramid scheme. First of all you're selling products and in a pyramid scheme, there are no products. You just tell people to get you money and find other to give them others. Another thing people say is that the person who recruits you will always make more money then you.
Well I'm guessing the usual skeptic has a 9 to 5 job. Well someone recruited you for the job and that person is usually your boss and I could tell you with 100% certainty that you will never make more than your boss makes. If your boss hires a secretary for you, I'm guessing that the secretary will never make more than you because you're above them. Well a"job"seems more like a pyramid than ACN. There are thousands of business owners in ACN that make more money than the person above them which is nothing like a pyramid.
This is just something to think about
Bonus Bonus Bonus Money Money Money. I'm telling you start your business now
Was slacking a little the last 2 weeks and didn't do much with ACN but I love the fact that I did absolutely nothing for the last weeks and I received a nice check in the mail from them. Bonus money on a weekly or even monthly rate is the best thing ever. If things keep on going at this pace I should be making some decent money per month in the next couple of weeks.
You should definitely open you're own website if you want to grow.
I was looking over my old posts and I noticed that I never talked about creating your own online store. This is something every pro seller should eventually do. All these online sites are great but all of them take a pretty good chunk out of your sales prices. You could say that sites like Ebay and Amazon bring a lot of traffic but you have to pay them up to 20% in fees play by their rules and compete with other sellers for sales.
The first thing to do when setting up an online shop, is to get a domain name and for those who don't what that is, it's your "www.yoursite.com" web address. Many people have opinions on where the best place to buy domains are but I always buy them from godaddy.com. I find that their price is good and you could always find discounts online or get a cash back rebate from a site like ebates.com. During one of my future post I'll talk about cash back sites a little more. Anyway. Once you get your domains, you will need hosting. Even though Godaddy is a very known site, I don't like them for hosting. I find websites have longer loading times. My favourite site is Hostgator.com for hosting. They have many different plans for everyone's needs and what's great is they have a quick install function were you could have a online shop ready to be filled with product within I would say 5 minutes but that's after you get comfortable with all the options.
Once you get these 2 items, your good to go. In 5 minutes you could get a template up and start putting in products. Then the next step would be to drive traffic to your site which is something that I was never good at and had to pay someone to set something up for me. In the long run, it's better because you start to make more money and you could slowly move away from sites like eBay and only use them for older hard to move items and also to promote which is also another topic for another day.
Become a business owner. Why wait? Start your own business right now.
Been about 1 month since my last post. I've been busy as usual with many different projects but again I'm gonna focus on my favorite project which is ACN. I've been an Independent Business owner for about 3 months now and things re going well for something I do for about 2 to 4 hours a week. I'm do to make my money back shortly. I've hit the 3rd level as a business owner and I'm about to hit the 4th one which is were things will get interesting. I'm also doing well on customer acquisition with about 5 clients at the moment. My organization is also growing. We're about 6 guys, with about another 6 preparing to join us in the next few days.
I have to say this might be the best project I've ever started because not only do you help yourself but you help others succeed while having a great time doing all of this. The best thing I could tell you to do is check the video I've linked to on the right or right bellow this post and see how you could start your own home business.

Has eBay Become a Scam. Does eBay Suck?
I want to talk about some I feel strongly about and what others feel strongly about too. The only difference with my opinion and some other sellers is that eBay is one big ball of scamming and that eBay sucks. I personally think that eBay has a lot to offer and is a great site to sell items. You just have to be on the ball, know what your selling and be great with your customers.
Does it suck that eBay increased fees by adding final value fee on shipping. Yeah it does suck but some of the bigger sites have always charge a fee on shipping like Amazon, Liquidation ( buyers pay fees) and Ioffer to name a few. This is not something new. That increased my fees but I countered it by adding a little extra to my start prices and also tried new techniques to increase my sales.
Compared to what eBay was before 2008, I think they made it better. There is no longer a disadvantage to honest sellers when it came to circumventing final values fees when putting a crazy amount in shipping. Scamming seller can't sell Xbox boxes or wholesale lists of popular items trying to trick buyers anymore. I have to say they did give to much power to buyers but they're trying to fix it and sellers who come to the message boards and complain about being scammed are not always being scammed. This is all my opinion and I'm sure others don't think the same.
What to do when someone asks you to ship to a different address
After about 5 days of not posting, I didn't get that big jump I was expecting to get after posting a fully negative post about eBay. Either no one really cares about eBay negativity or my theory was wrong. This was done just out of curiosity so I won't put much thought about this anymore.
What I really want to talk about today is when you sell something online and you received payment through paypal. As it stands the address in the paypal payment is where you should be sending your item. It doesn't matter anymore if it's confirmed or unconfirmed. If someone asks you to change the address after the payment was made, you have 2 choice. Either you ship to the new address and risk losing the items and money or you could ask the buyer to resend payment confirming this new address once you refund the original payment. I personally go by a case by case basis. If it's a small amount, I won't bother the buyer but if the amount is a bigger amount like $100, then I will refund the buyer and ask them to resend payment and ask them to change the shipping address at the same time.
What You Need to do to Raising Your Selling Limits on Ebay
Recently, I noticed some sellers on eBay have been having trouble selling in qty because of selling limits eBay has put on sellers, specifically new sellers. The bad news is there is nothing you could really do about it if you're a new sellers. For sellers that have older accounts and have monthly activity, you could give eBay a call and talk to someone there and they might increase your limits depending on what your selling, how much your selling and of course what your feedback & stars look like. They also look at if you follow what they want you to do like offer free shipping and 14 day returns. I personally have gotten my limits increased 3 times. Twice I called in and the 3rd was automatic.
For new sellers, you have no choice but to wait. Even if you call they won't increase your limit. Once you've done your first month then you could ask for an increase every month but that doesn't mean you will get it. The best thing to do is do really well the first month. Sell what you can even if you lose some money. Build up your account and avoid any issues even if it costs you money. then the following month call eBay and try to increase your limit. When you do call them and they ask you what you need, ask for a little more than what you need so you could get what you actually need.
What's your real store insertion fee?
How to figure out your cost per listing
Your real store insertion fee, or your cost per store listing isn't as simple as you might think. When I first got a store, I forgot to figure my store subscription fee into my initial prices for awhile. I just used the 5¢ or the 20¢ store insertion fee when working up a price. Some sellers may feel that including the annual cost of their store subscription fee when doing their tax return is good enough, but it isn't since you don't get back dollar for dollar on the expenses you claim. (correct me if I'm wrong Marty or Mini)
The real insertion fee cost is higher than 5¢ (basic) or 20¢ (premium) with a store subscription. For example, if you have a basic store with an average of 100 items for $15.95 per month & a 20¢ insertion fee, you real cost per listing per month is:
$15.95 ÷ 100 = 16¢ (rounded up) + 20¢ = 36¢
You're not going to have exactly the same number of listings in your store at all times, so it's never going to be an exact figure, but certainly better than forgettng to include it in your pricing altogether.
Taking this a little further, you might also want to work on figuring out the average time it takes your items to sell. I have some that sit for a year or more before they sell, and some that sell the first month out the gate. Others in between. For single item listings, you probably tend to list similar types of products, so they may have simililar sell thru time. Even if not, you can still come up with an average time. I'm not suggesting you go back and raise the price by 36¢ every month your item doesn't sell. LOL. If it didn't sell the first month for what you priced, logic says it's not likely to sell at a higher price next month. (altho logic doesn't always apply to ebay selling & buyer psychology) What I am suggesting is that you keep track for awhile and come up with an average number of months to use when working up your initial price. It's far from an exact science, but you're just looking for a rough ballpark figure. Every month that goes by for the above scenario, it's costing you another 36¢ to sell that item. Let's say you've kept track for a year already and have come up with an average of 4 months. Now you may want to add 36¢ X 4 = $1.44 to your original price.
This won't apply equally to all sellers. We each have our different types of merchandise and ways of selling it. Some sellers that make their own products for instance, or buy in bulk, will have multiple item listings with 20 or more available. They're going to have this listing indefinitely, no matter how fast or slow the items sells. I would probably just figure the basic 36¢ on these, since I'm assuming they're good enough sellers to move at least 1 per month.
There comes a time when none of the above matters to me anymore...that's on my loser items. You know the ones. Seemed like a good idea when we bought it and listed it, but now you realize it's a turkey. For those I forget all about my costs of listing, what I paid for it, the whole shebang. I just start reducing the price every month until somebody takes the dang thing off my hands.
All of the above is just my way of doing things, and I've talked about this before, but there are so many new sellers nowadays. Just thought I'd share.
Make Money by Uploading Video to Youtube?
So this post is a little of topic then the usual stuff I talk but I thought it was an interesting way of making money. I was on a message board talking about making money and I feel upon a topic talking about making money by uploading videos to YouTube. I ignored it for a few days because I though it had to do with getting an google adsense account and getting paid pennies for every click you would get on the ads shown around your video. After looking into it more, I found out that it was more than that. Pretty much companies are looking to get people to upload the companies videos and pretty much promote their products. It's very interesting and I started doing this and I have had some good success. I don't have the time to go in-depth with this but if you click http://goo.gl/EKRsE, you will get a bunch of info.
