Do you feel volunteer workers have a big impact on individual communities?
As a volunteer worker I do believe that as I worked with victims and witnesses of crime and the knowledge that we were there to help them, and support them in this bad time and the fact that we did it voluntarily made a huge difference to that person and the community.
What, are they volunteer boxers and go around hitting every one in the community. Most volunteer workers represent 'good causes' and probably have a positive effect on the community.
A long time ago dad and his son would pack their tools, extra wood and other materials in the wagon. Mom and daughter spent most of the morning cooking and packing baskets. At a given time they boarded their wagon and drove to a neighbors. There they joined many others from the community and this is how houses, and barns were built.
One of our many foundations involves people helping each other. Not salaried workers or city/government employees. People helping people. I firmly believe that volunteers are some the basic seeds that helps hold our country together. So yes, in my opinion, they carry a huge impact.
Oh my, absolutely. There are organizations and programs that could not function to any measurable degree without volunteers. There are major organizations that were started by volunteer workers and then expanded to more fully realized their goals and vision.
Volunteers are competant and very tireless workers and are of more value to communities than anything I can think of.
Absolutely! I've volunteered for several organizations in the metro-Atlanta area and I KNOW the impact is significant. For example, I have planted trees for one group, and it is a joy to see residents step outside their homes when we are planting and say, "Thanks...looks good." Sometimes we even get more volunteers when we do our plantings. It doesn't take a lot of time out of the day, and the reward is NOT, getting a thank you, but it is being able to say, "Hey, I live here, and I care about the community in which I live."
I am a volunteer worker and make a massive impact on people's lives. As a result, this has a knock on effect to the community as a whole. Patients would really be stumped without people like me driving and supporting the local community in this way. It is an invaluable service which I adore.
I help some to live and some to die. The greatest impact, of course, is on me. It helps me to be the best that I can be and gives me a great sense of reward. I volunteer for the Red Cross (taking people for their cancer treatment) and the ambulance service - various hospital appointments from Diaylisis to hospital discharge, amongst the whole of the service.

Do you volunteer?Do you give your time to help out in places like schools or other community institutions or organizations? What are the opportunities to help in your town or neighborhood?

If they asked for volunteers to go, on a one way space trip to a new planet, would you volunteer? To reach another planet, it would take so long that families may be sent, so that, even though the parents may die of old age, the children or grandchildren could reach and populate the new planet.

Why migrated communities are more hard working? Why local people are comparatively slow workers or lazy? Why most of nations are ruled by those who were once outsiders?
