Updated on July 11, 2012

Searching for employment can be very challenging. If you live in the state of Georgia or are planning on moving there, the Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) can assist you with your job search.

Go to the GDOL website and create a user account. From there you can browse jobs by regions or by cities. Then the jobs are listed under categories.

Once you find a job you are interested in, you have to put in a referral through the GDOL. This involves your basic information including your name, email address, and qualifications for the job you are applying for. The GDOL will reply usually within 24 hours with an approval or denial.

With an approval, the GDOL will give you further instructions on applying for the job you were approved for. This could be a phone number to the HR manager or instructions on where to send your resume to just to name a few.

Local GDOL Career Centers

Georgia has a total of 53 Career Centers you can go to. There you can use their computers to look for jobs and fill out applications. They can also assist you in making a resume and faxing your resumes and applications to potential employers. All of this at no cost to you!
