Halliburton interviews

Hello friends, I will be sharing my experience of getting selected in Halliburton Technology India. This article will be of more use for those who want to apply for a job in Halliburton.

Halliburton does not have a walk in policy, the resumes are short listed and short listed candidates go through further selection procedure. The position I am selected for is IT Support Analyst, therefore in this article I have discussed recruitment procedure for the post of IT Support Analyst.

The recruitment is a five step procedure:
1. Telephonic interview
2. Personal interview
3. Telephonic interview with leads in US.
4. Telephonic interview (technical)
5. Results

1) Telephonic Interview:
Before company calls you for a telephonic interview you will be notified at least 24 hours before. The company gives a specific time when a call be given to you for telephonic interview. In Halliburton Telephonic Interview technical questions are asked to you by a person who has a good technical knowledge and can dig to roots of topic you are discussing, (therefore I assume they are not from HR).
The questions comprises from desktops, printer, routers, servers to different software applications. The duration of interview was 15-20 minutes and a stress was given on Microsoft application like Microsoft outlook.

2) Personal Interview:
After the telephonic interview you will get an email informing venue and time for PI... The PIs are conducted by team leads however I was pretty lucky because I was interviewed by Manager. This interview in Halliburton was very comfortable as technical questions were very few and questions were more on general side to know your personality.
Questions asked were like, what will you do in ... conditions? What was your best day bad worst day in your last job? Etc. This interview will not be a great challenge for you if you are really good in communication skills and crisis management.

3) Telephonic interview with leads in US.
After personal interview in Halliburton the next round is Telephonic interview with leads in US. One of the lead from US will call you on your extension through VoIP. This was a short interview and simple questions like, why would you like to join us? What are your personality characters that suits for this job? Do you prefer certifications in field you are working in? Etc.

4) Telephonic interview (technical):

In next round you will have to solve a technical problem of a Halliburton employee (don’t worry, mock call). The issue and resolution both are given to you in printed format and you have to read it and resolve the issue as instructed. However one issue is raised by employee that is not discussed in document. You have to solve that by your own.

All these round are completed on an around 3 hours.

5) Results:
The results of interview are sent to you by email. The email will be like... Congratulations for clearing…….. And you have been selected for the post of ……

The next step is “Celebrations”

The Halliburton is fortune 200 company and a great place to work. The compensation package offered in Halliburton in best in industry. The infrastructure, the facilities to employees and awareness towards Health and safety is really great.
