How to increase traffic to blog.

Are you wondering how to increase traffic to blog? What are the best ways to attract new visitors to your blog? With so many bloggers writing on similar topics, how do you get on the First page of Google and rank higher than competition? Search Engine Optimization is a science, are you familiar with SEO techniques? Do you promote your blog? Do you use Social Bookmarking? Do you Research Key Words? Do you tag your posts for search engines? Do you interlink pages of your blog? Do you approve comments manually? Read more about the SEO techniques that will help you increase traffic to your blog.

How to Increase Traffic to a Blog

1. Daily quality posts on "high-demand" topics in your niche is one of the best ways to show Google you are serious about your topic and deserve Google traffic. When you are just starting a new blog, posting once or twice per day will also help you build blog content, which is important when you are facing serious competition from established blogs.

2. Submit your blog to search engines every time your blog is updated. I use Pingomatic to notify search engines about my blog updates.

3. Share your blog posts on Twitter and Facebook, and use Social Bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon , Tumblr, and Digg. Every extra link, and every extra visitor counts, and if your site content gets noticed, it can be shared by hundreds of people.

More tips for increasing blog traffic

How to increase traffic to blog.

4. Post ORIGINAL content only. Do not copy paragraphs or sentences from other websites - Google will penalize you by not sending traffic to your blog. On the other hand, original posts will help you get organic Google Traffic.

5. Promote your blog by commenting on other blogs in your niche and linking to your blog. Do not spam. Do not leave generic comments like "great post". Meaningful comments that add value to a blog are the ones that are likely to get approved and draw attention to your blog. When you are sharing your own tips and advice, blog visitors get curious and click on your profile.

6. Do approve all comments left on your blog posts manually and check all submitted links. Pointing to low quality sites will hurt your ranking on Google.

7. Look for guest blogging opportunities. Guest blogging is a win-win situation for both, the blog owner and the guest blogger: the blog owner saves time by not having to write the post, and the guest blogger gets a backlink to his or her blog.

Great tips! I think consistency is really important. It's important to set expectations with your followers about how often you will be posting, the purpose of your blog/types of posts to expect, the value of subscribing, and then follow through to make sure you meet those expectations.

Squidoo is a mega learning curve. I'm finding that I'm focussing on just one lens and fiddling with it to see what happens. Once I've got the hang of it, I'll get working on my other ideas.

      Good lens.....

very informative post .. especially when you talked about how people should place meaningful comments on other people's blog. In my opinion , it's all about building relationships and if your posting an opinion that's relevant to the conversation, most people dont mind if you post a link to yourwebsite ... sorry i can get long winded

This was really nice piece of article. I would also like to say that blogging and SEO for your blog is not as easy as we think initially but that doesn't mean we should stop trying with SEO.

      Nice one !!!

Traffic - the biggest problem! If we can solve this we have a lot accomplished. Regular posting helps.

This is my biggest problem! If I could just get traffic to my blogs and even Squidoo lenses, I would be set. Thanks for the information, I will return to it. PS - I know that frequent original content is one of the main lures. If I ever got on the list of someone and started visiting their blog, I would be disappointed if it was not updated regularly.

@goo2eyes lm: Are you adding links from your reviews to other sites, like SheToldMe, and adding links from your lenses too, and your blogs. That can help. Best Reviewer has been paying less for me this month too though, I had been getting about $20 a month on Adsense.

i love pro blogger, I learned from the masters! Blog trafic is a fickle thing, but plug away at it, find a "blog Buddy" who will help support enourageor just drop by once and a while, when starting it feels like talking to a brick wall, so its great to have someone stop by every now and then and suport you, traffic will come (if you write what they are looking for) so just keep writing! Great page Katie
