Natural Advantage Recipes for Hand Made Cosmetics

Updated on September 10, 2014

Hand made cosmetics from home

Why this is a good opportunity to start a small business and make your own cosmetics

There are many harsh chemicals in our cosmetics that we are unaware of.

The manufacturers are well aware of these chemicals but they believe that they are either harmless, or in such small quantities, that even the toxic ones will have no effect on us.

Assuming that an average woman uses make-up every day, this amounts to about 5 pounds (2 kilograms) of actual cosmetic that is absorbed through the skin and into the body, every year.

Lipstick, shampoo, deodorant, creams, moisturisers, hair conditioners, suntan lotions, make-up, shaving cream, gels, soap are only some of the cosmetics that we use everyday. While every manufacturer follows the law in terms of the allowed ingredients in their own product, what happens when we mix the whole lot together. (On average, woman use 12 and men use 6 cosmetics every day of our lives)

Here is the problem ... nobody knows. There are suggestions and some studies that point to a gloomy prediction. Yes, welcome to the live experiment. The only thing is, we are the subjects in this experiment.

Unfortunately, our bathrooms are becoming a minefield of toxins and this is what we know so far.

  • Our bodies are accumulating many of these toxins
  • This toxic accumulation has unknown side effects
  • We are a live experiment being used for testing these side effects

What are some of these toxins?

Some of the common ones are lead, triclosan, flame retardants and mercury.

This is also what we know :

  • Our children are being born with these toxins already in them
  • Our Governments are doing very little (or are very slow) to regulate the cosmetic industry
  • The cosmetic industry is relatively self regulated and they tell Government what is safe

How are some of these cosmetic toxins affecting us?

Common ingredients in your cosmetics are linked to :

  • Asthma
  • Learning disabilities
  • Decreased male fertility
  • Allergies
  • Irritation
  • Photo-sensitisation

Herein lies the small business opportunity. While the Governments and conventional make-up junkies play catch-up with the realities of the effects of cosmetic toxins, this is the right time to educate yourself and start experimenting with hand made cosmetics from your home.

Whether these products are for yourself or for starting a small home business, there is no time like the present.

Ignorance will not help you ... Do something about it

One way or another, we are all guilty ... how many times have we said "I did not know"?

Your natural makeup advantage is what you know yourself ... and you would not be reading this all the way to the end if you were not serious about doing something about it.

To learn the makeup methodology for Natural Advantage Ingredients is simpler than you realise ... increase your awareness of makeup ingredients by keeping a note of the ingredients that are kind to your skin (forget the ones that are not).

Makeup ingredients that are kind to your skin are a lot fewer than the ones that are not.

If you still need a little convincing, have a look at the video clip below, especially around the 1:20 mark.

I've just written about lead in lipstick causing breast cancer. It's real so just keep saying this stuff. Eventually we will reach those who just don't know.
