Qualities of Great Leaders
The first and the foremost thing leaders should have is a vision and a goal of what they want to achieve and they should be able to communicate their vision clearly to their followers as without the support of their followers, leaders are nothing. Steve Jobs had a vision of where it wanted to take Apple and communicating and working with his employees he made multi billion dollar sales of ipods, ipads,iphone and its applications. In short, he revolutionized the way in which people listen to music.
Exceptional leaders are made by building relationships with people.The development goal, relationship building is of utmost importance for leaders to be successful; be it in an organization or at government level. Long term relationships are built through good communication and interpersonal skills. Great leaders have excellent interpersonal skills which help them in dealing with different kinds of people, motivating them, encouraging them to learn new things and experiment, think from a different perspective, bring out the best in them in terms of creativity and innovation and lastly to make them believe in themselves. If a leader is able to do the above mentioned things for the people then he/she is on the way to become a great leader and will be deeply loved by his/her followers.
Vince Lombardi, the famous American football coach, said “Leaders aren't born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.”To achieve any goal in life one has to put in a lot of effort and handwork and in order to become an exceptional leader an extra effort is required.
