Fresh Store Builder Review

Updated on August 28, 2011

My Experience with Fresh Store Builder the Amazon Affiliate Script Storefront

This is about my experiences with using Fresh Store Builder after careful review of all available Amazon affiliate store scripts.

I use affiliate store scripts to create web sites that are Amazon Associates stores, which display Amazon products, organized and provide good income via affiliate commission.

It is a very good way of generating income.

My Experience with Fresh Store Builder

Amazon Affiliate Store Script

My story begins several years ago when I built and maintained my own ecommerce web site and sold on Amazon (I still sell on Amazon). However, after investing in thousands of dollars of products, dealing with frustrated customers, and the very complicated bookkeeping and taxes, I realized that it really isn't all that fun.

So, I began searching for Amazon Affiliate store scripts, especially once I realized how much potential there was being an Amazon affiliate.

After careful research into various Amazon store scripts, including Associateomatic, I realized that Fresh Store Builder was the best and provided the best potential for customization and ease of use.

Once I signed up it took me about 5 days to get it up and running. It could have been running faster, but I ran into a couple problems with my webhost, which Carey at FSB helped resolve quickly.

Within 2 days of my enabling my store for the public to be able to see I had orders and was making money. I was impressed!

I highly recommend that you sign up and buy a package. It will pay for itself.

Fresh Store Builder Features

Use Fresh Store Builder multiple Amazon locales - UK, USA and DE

No Subscription Fees

A one time fee means you can quickly and easily make profit on your

investment. This was a huge selling point for me. One fee means more

profits for you.

Google Integration

Built in Google Analytics for statistics and XML sitemap for Google,

Bing and Yahoo.

Easy Installation

You can be up and running, ready to add your content within an hour.

"Hands Free" Solution

Amazon handles all orders, customers and stock meaning zero hassle for

you. The benefit of being an affiliate.

Complete Control

Choose exactly the categories and products you want. Control every

aspect of your store.

100% Automated

Products are updated automatically and (optionally) auto populate your

store. One thing that I found is that it is important to carefully

select your criteria for pulling in the products from Amazon.

Otherwise, you may end up with more products than you want and they

could be a little "odd". A Walt Disney toy in a triathlon training

Fresh Store Builder Introduction

Suggested Web Hosting

Fresh Store Builder recommends using certain proven hosts, but they will help to try to resolve any issues that may occur with any host.

*GoDaddy is not recommended by them or me.

These days I have moved all my hosting off of GoDaddy and am now only on Lunar Pages. My current and future stores will continue to be hosted on Lunar Pages.

Does Fresh Store Builder allow you add articles to your store site, similar to your "About" page?

FSB does allow you to create pages. I have a "Triathlon Library" that I've organized. I just haven't added it to my menu bar yet. From the "Triathlon Library" link there are articles that I've written.

Also, you can add Wordpress, MediaWiki, Pligg, or whatever other scripts into their own subdomain or directory, such as wordpress blog/

If I bought the least expensive option of Fresh Store Builder could I upgrade later?

Yes, if you purchase the $97 silver package later on you can pay the extra $400 and get the diamond package.

My Own Tips

It is very, very important that your store not be a "thin affiliate", which is an affiliate with little or no original content.

Google states that "there is no problem in being an affiliate as long as you create some added value for your users and produce valuable content that gives a user a reason to visit your site. For example, you could create product reviews, ratings, and product comparisons."

If you plan on doing nothing more than create a storefront, then don't bother with Fresh Store Builder. It is important to develop your store/website into something of value to the visitor.

Along with creating the store, I highly suggest using the page-building feature within Fresh Store Builder, to create individual articles on the pages.

Even better, use mediawiki (ie Wikipedia), Wordpress blog script, Pligg, or other FREE scripts, to add extra features to your site. There are so many options to create and build value into your website.

Interlink all of your website. That is, create links in the various menu bars pointing to the other script pages, such that your FSB store links to your website Wordpress blog, which also points to your Wikipedia parts of your website.

Use templates that tie all the components together. Unless you are really adept at modifying templates (ie themes) for whatever scripts you use, then you may need to hire someone to make them look similar, or you will need to find templates with the same general appearance.

FSB does come with two built-in templates (modern and classic), which are very easy to use and update the contents. You can also buy other templates from various expert FSB designers.

A professional looking store instills confidence in the visitor. This, to me, is very important for converting clicks into a sale.

I've decided to just sell through Squidoo since in Colorado now Amazon requires you to pay taxes. Bummer!

@michelle8989: Make sure to view the Guides and read through them carefully. Also, take advantage of the forum and Support (in upper right corner when logged in). You can also take advantage of their install option, in which they will do it for you (take a look at the Extras) section.

@triathlontraini1: !!! ... I just noticed you put that info into the FAQ above. Thanks! I'm actually thinking of starting with the Gold package.. 15 stores. That should show me whether this will be profitable, and since I expect it will be, I should be able to earn the money for the upgrade. I've already bought seven new URLs for the project!

Another question - with Fresh Store Builder can you add articles to your store site similar to your "About" page? I'm planning to write three to five articles per site to attract search engine traffic, and want them to be integrated into the content management system. (Thanks for helping me with information about this!)

@triathlontraini1: Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm very serious about buying and will do so with your link. I just need to decide which level I'll start with.

@Linda BookLady: I can't speak for Carey at FSB, but he's very easy to work with and would probably work out a deal for an upgrade. I'll ask on their forum and post a response here.

@kohuether lm: You are an affiliate, which means that you provide the information/organization/links and receive a small commission on the sale. Anywhere from 1% to 15%. However, the visitor could click on your link for a $10 widget, but buy a $200 game system. You would get the commission on the $200 game system!

I built two amazon affiliate websites 2 months ago, but haven't generated much income yet. Thankfully I found your lens, and will try to use FSB for one of them and hopefully it will boost the sales. Thank you for sharing, have bookmarked this page.

@nebby: It doesn't take very long to get it up and running. If you can install and setup Wordpress, you can set a store up. The Control Panel is very easy to use. Plus the Support is excellent and responsive. Also, your questions will be answered on the forums. :)

Now get out their and build your store! :D

@WindyWintersHubs: Thank you! It's a one time fee. There are no subscription fees of any kind. You do need your own domain. They suggest Bluehost primarily.
