Where To Shop On Cyber Monday

Who has the best deals going on what you want to buy this Cyber Monday? Labor Day Sales rule the summer. Black Friday is the big bricks-and-mortar shopping day to start the Christmas shopping season, but Cyber Monday is the day when online retailers and the websites of major department stores offer major discounts. Check out which stores are offering what savings and make your plans to get the best deals on your Cyber Monday shopping.

Cyber Monday Questions Answered - As answered by CBS Science & Technology correspondent Daniel Siebert

My opinion?

You'll get better answers on this page! But anyways, here is what CBS had to say (for what its worth)..

  1. What is the best way to shop on Cyber Monday? - visit cybermonday.com (put together by the National Retailers' Foundation) or send a text to 77053 to get texted on the best deals of the hour
  2. Is it best to shop early in the morning on Cyber Monday? - The sooner the better. Quantities are limited and later hours may have more online traffic
  3. What are the best electronics to buy for Cyber Monday? - Virtually everything: digital cameras, laptops, etc.. But also think about whether or not you'd like to see a demo before purchasing. TIP: do your research before Cyber Monday hits!
  4. Do people save more on Cyber Monday than they do on Black Friday? - It is possible.

Cyber Monday Predictions for 2009

CEO of online retail specialists Mercent, Eric Best, is interviewed regarding their 2009 predictions and observations for not only Cyber Monday, but the whole of the 2009 online shopping environment. Black Friday for online sales rose in 2009 - Black Friday is traditionally a bricks-and-mortar phenomenom but is currently being encroached on by online sales. They predicted less 'deep discounting' prior to Christmas 2009, but anticipated heavy price cuts on goods after Christmas in the January sales.

Mr. Best pointed out that Black Friday usually is the #3 day for holiday shopping (contrary to popular belief)and Cyber Monday holds the position of the #2 shopping day of the holiday season. Best asserted that 'Green Monday' - the final Monday before free shipping offers cease for Christmas delivery - will be the largest holiday shopping day of 2009.

Brick and mortar shoppers were said to be shopping more, but spending less. Mercant's Best stated that online Black Friday sales as tracked by his company were up 41% from the previous year. He didn't have that much optimism for an overall increase in online holiday shopping, stating the overall prediction was for an increase of 13% to 14% for online holiday shopping in 2009. Still 13% to 14% overall growth ain't bad for online merchants..
