Get traffic to Hubpages using these 5 helpful tips.

Updated on July 12, 2012

1. Good Content

It's very important to try to write an article as professionally as possible. Correct use of letter capitalization, punctuation and spelling. This is important to a reader, not because they are going to notice that everything is written correctly, but more that they WON'T notice all of the mistakes.

If a reader comes across an article that is poorly written, they likely will not stay on the page long.

2. Links

Links are important whether or not a link is to one of your own hubs, or to another persons hub. When you share another persons hub, believe it or not, you will see an increase in your own traffic.

3. Referral Trackers

Referral trackers are a great tool to increase your site traffic. If you use them to link to another persons site, you also get credit for the link to that site. Not only that, but if someone signs up for Hubpages from your referral, you get a percentage of that persons hub for the life of it!

4. Tags or keywords

When creating your hub, be sure to choose some very relative tags. Do not use just 2 or 3 tags. use at least 10 or so words that best relate to your article. When search engines "crawl" the site, they will pick up on those meta-tags first.

5. Dedication

Stay on top of your hubs and articles. I have updated mine many times to improve them for better reading, added links, photos, etc.. Continue to write quality articles and your traffic will no doubt increase!

Thank you rob. I read somewhere HubPages tags do not count towards Google SEO. If anyone can clear this or ask it in HP it would be good. Thank you for your answer too.

@VrijdagPages - I'm not completely sure on the significance of the tags. I'm guessing they are there for a reason. I definatly use them though. If the search engine crawls every word of your HP article, I suppose you wouldn't need tags. I'm just not 100% sure.

Very sound advice in this article for increasing traffic. I agree with all your suggestions above but would add social sharing on Twitter, Facebook , Google+ etc. of your own hubs as well as other hubbers too.

I read the Forum on how to produce a 100 score hub, and they suggested finding 10 tags with each hub. Since then my organic traffic from Google has been steadily increasing. Voted Up and Shared.
