500 Followers On HubPages

Updated on June 30, 2015

Who is communicating with you on HP today?

The goal is to have sincere followers.

If having viewers on HubPages is important to you, then having sincere followers is your goal.

The sincere follower actually follows.

They know your Hubs may be of interest to them, and they can look forward to them.

It is one thing to say that you are following thousands. (One new Hubber was "following" over 1,000 on her first day, which didn't leave her much time to read any of their Hubs, or make discriminating choices!)

It is another thing to follow Hubbers who have kindled some interest, enough to lead you back to them, and to have HP alert you to their newest Hubs.

Treasure the sincere follower.

The chances are good that what interests them about your Hubs is a common interest they share with you. It is very likely that they will be writing Hubs about similar topics and that those will interest you. You can quickly reach the point at which you are co-viewers.

I realize that out of my 501 current followers there are some, perhaps many, who signed up simply in hopes that I would return the favor and read something of theirs....I usually do.

That may have been the sole motivation of the gal who decided to follow over 1,000 writers on her first day, and others who periodically "follow" a new batch of 16 or more other writers.

You can tell who is likely to be sincere, by looking at the new followers profile under their heading "My Activity" to see how many other writers they chose to follow at the same time they chose to follow you. The greater that number, the less likely they are to be a sincere follower.

The goal is to have sincere followers.

The way to accomplish that goal is to write quality, informative, even entertaining Hubs, and that is something you, and only you, can control.

Thanks for following.

What do you hope to find when you sign back in to HubPages?

MsDora - At this point 7 more have joined my tribe. I notice, however, that at times I am one of a mob they followed all at once. That hardly describes a sincere follower, does it. I am also approaching the 51,000th view, and that is important, too.

Back to getting the next book published and the last one turned into an ebook. Have a blessed day.

Rodric29 - And I am glad that the article pleased you in some way, and that you are a sincere follower. Let's hope I can produce some other Hubs you will find enjoyable in some way

I voted this up and beautiful because of what was in my heart when I decided to follow you today, July 22, 2015. I have known about you for years and read some of your stuff, but was not interested in following you so I didn't. After I read one of your health articles I decided to follow you for that reason alone.

I then came across this article. It was simply beautiful to me because I became one of your followers with no expectation that you should follow me and it felt good.

I don't follow many people just because I cannot read everyone's writings. Thanks for being sincere in your hub. I wrote one similar to this one, but your's actually touched me in a strange way. I assume it is because I know that I follow you after a few years of reading your stuff. It took a lot to become one of your followers

In short, your article makes me feel good about my intentions.

aviannovice - This is a new one (above) which is what happened when I went back to put in "aviannovice" after I had written how I was serious, too, and you have my email address now along with others who may have noticed that my fan mail page has that link I hope you and others will use to communicate that way also.

500 is a good number, and I hope that they read your material. I think some people followed me, just to get access to my followers, so they could go after them. It is a game to some, yet some of us remain serious.

'Sincere' following is always a good sign, I think, and one we should all aspire to. At the moment, I struggle to read all the Hubs I'd like to read, so now doubt some of the folks I follow publish Hubs I don't see til weeks or months later. Never enough time. Congrats on reaching 500, by the way, Demas. Keep on truckin'.

I like your thoughts about obtaining sincere followers of your Hubs. I have not sought to follow many Hubbers even to encourage Hubbers to follow me. I recognize that I can only read so many writers and so I just have a few followers. I recognize that having a large number of followers creates more traffic to my Hubs. I follow the few Hubbers of choice because I like their thoughts and hope to build a raport with them.

Perhaps this is not the right way to be a Hubber but I have a goal and I am pursuing it.

Congratulations on reaching 500 followers Demas. It's always interesting to see how many are actually "sincere" followers. I assume maybe half of mine are and read as many of my hubs as they can. I know it is impossible for me to read every hub of the people I follow (over 400) but I do at least always look at the titles and read any hub that may be of interest to me. I do however reciprocate by always reading a hub of a person who has just commented on one of mine.
